The Beatles wrote this song and sang it as a semi rock ballad, which was great. To me, she sang it in a way that truly shows the real meaning of the words of this beautiful song. This amazing soulful performance really makes you feel the pain, nostalgia and cry for help of an aging person reaching the end of the road. Gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes every single time I hear it. One of her best, if not the best, rendition of this song.

My mom had this VHS when I was little. Im 40. I was 7 or 8 and she'd play this on repeat so I could sing it...and I never tired of it. She'd cry, her friends. It still makes me cry. I choke up. To be in that audience. What a moment of musical magic. I truly appreciate it the older I get what she created here.

I felt in love with Tina when I saw her on tv performing Private Dancer at the AMAs in 85 and I still to this day I can t get enough of her..i love all her tours but the Private dancer tour to me was magical..Tina at her best..from her hair to the pumps..customes and everything in between..the delivery her urgency..her mastery..her sultriness ..every time I watch this performance I feel spellbound..in awe..totally blown away by her presence....yet she sings this very totally different version of the Beatle s original..and it is a masterpiece.. She wails and puts her heart out..in a compelling vulnerability that only Tina can convey...I have never in my life..and I love music...seen anything or anyone as amazing, remarkable and beautiful as Tina..it s a real shame America disn t know what hit them in 1984 when she came back..she was not just a hype of the MTV or a triumphant queen claiming her rightful throne..she was more brilliant and talented that she ever knew or gave herself credit for
