Can you please take a look at my newest course Mystic Creek Homestead? It would be great if you do do a preview of it if you like it. Thanks.
Hey @gforce41! Thanks for that showcase round! Appreciate you taking the time to show people around and pick our strategy apart. Love to see it on your schedule! 😍
Lovely course! Immersive and very enjoyable to play👍
My pleasure! Another gem and a great additional to our schedule!
Would love to have you review my course - Copper Crest Canyon. It's my 4th build and I really think I brought a lot of things together learning from mistakes on the first three.
Will take a look soon!
If possible could you play my course Ridgemont by Stef_pineapple and review it?
Thankw for the tips man. Would it be possible for you to review a course that I have made. It's my 3rd ever course and I am slowly getting better. Any tips would be appreciated. It's called Ridgemont
Thank you, will try to take a look soon!

Glad it was helpful!

@@GForce41 thanks man, a lot of feedback I’m getting is it’s a bit gimmicky and to many dog legs.. so I’m currently making a real course, I’ll let you know when I finish that one
yes, wasn't sure what you were going for, but too much if going realistic
@@GForce41 I don’t think I knew what I was going for either, very new to 2k23 and golf irl as well
These videos are very well done. I like that you explain the “why” and then you show “how”. Great tutorial series.
Thank you! Great to hear that feedback!
I just published my first course ever, called Swiss Ponds. I would love to see your feedback on it if you're looking for submissions!
I'll check it out!
I`m new to PGA 2K23. One thing I noticed about bunkers in 2K23 are the drop lips (turf borders of real life bunkers). Is there a way to make drop lips more pronounced. Thanks
I might not be sure exactly what you are asking but I do not belive so!
How do I get my course on a preview? Thanks!!!
A Casual Preview would have to be a really good course we would use in Casuals GC that I am putting on the schedule that I felt I had something interesting to say about it. Quick Tips is where I provide feedback on 2 or 3 holes to help newer designers which their course and knowledge. Just let me know the exact name of the course and I will try to take a look.
@@GForce41 DreamAcres Golf Course. I’m a new builder. Watched basically every video you have put out. This is my first course I’ve spent close to 100 hours on it. Just want some more people to play it aside from my buddies and get some feedback back on how i could make it better. Sadly I feel like the course will never be finished as I always see something I could fix🥹. Thanks!! It is T ready though. Tried to capture a major tournament feeling.

7:02 Isn't that on you for blindly hitting a tee shot to where ever and then saying that the obstruction is unfair?
It’s not on him at all. He was trying to show me why I should not have placed the tree in that spot. Gforce41 is a highly regarded designer whose courses are featured by many societies.
@@ERASERGIB Ok. I’m just saying you gotta look at the hole before you hit. A designer’s job is to make the golfer think about strategy in my opinion. This is one way to do it. I’m not saying I do this a lot but trying to incorporate it a little more in my designing because any time you’re not making the golfer think about a shot that’s just emphasizes the mundane repetitive and boring way a course gets to me. That’s something I struggle with, making my holes more interesting. I was just offering my humble opinion but if you think that just because he’s highly regarded that I should take his word for everything, then all right
Thanks for your input Joe. Not sure I follow what you mean by not looking. I spent over a full minute looking at the hole pointing this out before I hit. I even put up some handy big arrows pointing away from the trees! Tee shot was blocked slightly right, check the meter. It's just not a good strategic design. The moral of the story is use trees strategically to enhance your design, think about the placement carefully.
Another very well presented and produced video. And thanks for promoting CGTV!
There's actually a course I've played in real life (Thornapple Pointe in Grand Rapids, MI) that's nicknamed "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", as it's bordered by a freeway and an airport, and it has a railroad track running through it that splits the course in half.
And which of the above have you launched a ball into? 😂
So cool to see this in the game! I’ve followed that story and love all the content about what went into building it! On a side note as an aspiring golf course and landscape architecture student learning how to design in this game I’d love to ask you some questions! I’m currently working on a links style course in PGA 2k23 in the same style of like Tara Iti in New Zealand but I’m struggling to create the same look of the massive dunes and sand features around the fairways and greens any tips!?
Happy to try to help. Might help if I see what you are trying to do and what you are struggling with...if you have TGC tours account you can dm at y same handle as here, gforce41. Or better yet, join our discord and ping me there.
@@GForce41 I appreciate it! I sent you a message on discord!

@@NoChipperi want to do a similar thing, what school are you going to/looking at and what’s your plan for after (or if you are after what are you doing?)
Way late, but just came across this...thanks for playing my course and for the video!
Doing a Sand Valley trip in 2025, and will be playing the Lido as part of it. Cannot wait.
Oh man that sounds good!
Sorry for the accidental blooper reel that was included at the end! 😂 Thanks to the handy CZcams editor, all is clear!
How do you achieve the immediate forest look without overplanting?
Hi Joe, was there a specific course from the video? Basically, size the trees appropriately, space them out (not touching) and focus on the front, what you see. fill in the back wisely. Check out my 2 Treelines videos for more. Hope they help!
My local courses all have illegal pins, can you let them know your rules of course design so they can make putting easier? Thanks
Have them submit their course to TGC Tours and get rejected, that'll teach 'em!!! LOL
Thanks G! That was some really great feedback! I can't believe some of the detail mistakes I made. Like the floating trees and not flattening out my tee boxes. This is why you are the man for the job of scouting out courses for CGC to play. Your attention to detail is outstanding. Maybe one day I can be a jedi master of course design like you🤣.
LOL, thanks! Yes, it is sorta like a Padawan-Jedi thing isn't it? I learned from some Jedi Masters myself, glad I can help!
This was a well done course. I had fun on it.
Thanks so much for the critiques and compliments! This is my first published course so I’m really proud of it and having a set of new eyes give notes on the course was awesome! I’m honored to be casuals worthy! Definitely evidence that I’m a rookie with the bunkering and shadows. I’ll work on those aspects of design if I start a new course. Finding the balance between prioritizing visuals vs golf play felt like a very intricate dance. So much respect for the professional designers. I love the idea of getting more creative with strategy off the tee box. You’re correct that I relied a lot on the bunkers at 300 so I’ll play around with new options. Something that I found very helpful is your note on preferred approach angle into the green. I’ll make sure to focus on green orientation and rewarding great tee shots with preferred lies and approach angles. Thank you again for taking the time to review. I had a blast watching you play Antiquity Bay GC. I’ll reach out when if I finish a 2nd course (probably never!) work, life, and a 2 year old son barely gave me enough time to watch your 40minute video haha Again, I REALLY appreciate your time and opinions. This was a really fun
My pleasure, it was a fun course to review, plenty to see and discuss. Very well done for a 1st course! So I started designing after kid #2 lol. Needed a cathartic, creative escape...I mean outlet! :)
Thanks for sharing all the tips in your videos. Very insightful. Tried to incorporate some into my first course design, that I just published this week. Myrtle Beach Days is the name of the course, if you’re bored and feel like giving it a try. Thanks again for the tips and info. Have a great day!
Thank you! Great to hear they are helpful! More coming soon!
Hey, Gforce41! I’d love for you to check out the course I just published and send me any critiques you have before I start working on my next course. the green looks like a penis
Nice video... When I make slopes that involve fairways, I try to think, could somebody actually ride a mower on that slope?
Yes sir! I have made that comment before. One of the first lessons I learned from an old tastegw video, "Can you get a mower on it?"
Would be cool to see you take a user hole and redo it with all the stuff you’re talking about
Good idea! I had initially thought of something like that when setting out to do videos. Might be time consuming but worth a second thought...

Hey...love these vids. Gonna watch a bunch to help with my next project. I cant devote a lot of time to design...2-3 hours per week, but I do enjoy the process. My first course "The Hike on Brunette" was approved by TGC tours. I want to get better... wondering if you could playthrough and tell me what to improve and what I'm doing okay with. I design on Xbox so it's tedious at times. Thanks for considering.
