Aldo Billingslea channeled Langston Hughes. It struck me that the pain of injustice carves a man like a chisel into the form of a man of justice, although he has never known it. And the tears of that pain increase his vision to that of an eagle, although he has never soared. This broke me down. And built me back up. Thank you, Aldo.
This show is going to be so good. There are few people as qualified to conceive and direct this show as Robert Kelley.

Why can't I renew from here tonight. I was at the event but that should be equivalent to also watching from home and then renewing. The upcoming season looks great but I'm VERY disappointed to not be able to just renew tonight (or even before the announcement as I've done in the past without knowing the season content until later). Sanding in line to buy tickets is really not for us old folks.
Hi Ced! Can you clarify what you mean? If you were at the event, you could either have renewed with our Box Office or filled out a form and dropped it off for us to input at the office tomorrow. You can also renew online before midnight tonight at theatreworks.org. Are you having trouble renewing online?
We are in love with this musical. I bought it on prime video and we watch it on repeat on the weekends. My teen daughters especially enjoy it and sing the songs often.

Ada, I couldn't agree with you more. This show touches a lot of bases about human relationships and -- for me, at least -- really touched my heart. I totally agree with you that it is, sadly, underrated. Also, Hilary Maiberger is fantastic!

I have just discovered Langston Hughes through a reading of "Our Daily Bread" this poem is profoundly brilliant. I am a Scottish singer song writer and wrote a song called "America" "can you be all that you seam, can you keep the promises you give to everyone, looking for the American Dream"
Love, love, love this musical. The cast is wonderful, the songs are really good, and of course the story is amazing. I'd recommend it to anyone.
