These companies like Etsy pay A LOT of money to be in the top of all search results.. and they have basically made it virtually impossible for an average small business owner to gain any notice online (where everyone is looking), without going through them. Also, most people who go through companies like Etsy never even read any of the legal documents related to using the service.. 🤷

Wow! that was a really interesting video that kept my attention up until the end! 👍 You are absolutely right!! Most of the time when Etsy closes down stores, it is for a very serious reason. These people who are wondering what went wrong, they actually know deep down what their big mistake was. 1) Etsy gets complaints from other top sellers who have been selling for some years, on their platform. And these top-sellers are watching for any newcomers threats. Mostly when someone tries to copy their work. This is a serious matter and it is called stealing. And of course thieves should be punished. Nobody likes to have their original work copied. Right? Because they have put in a lot of hard effort in their work, for a long time. So who are these newcomers who suddenly appeared out of nowhere trying to copy them? Unfortunately there are many people who get too excited of getting started right away, and the only thing they see in their heads, is "money flying around". Without thinking about the consequences of not being careful of what they are selling on Etsy. They start quickly with no plan. Just to copy from other people's hard work and efforts, thinking they'll get the same amount of sales. But hey what they sow they will reap. They can't just copy other peoples' work and expect nothing to happen to them. Reason Number 2) About the Ai images. I've seen plenty of times in many listings when people offer for sale "very low Quality" terrible Ai graphics images. They just generating Ai images, they don't do nothing or sacrifice at least (1 hour/per image) to edit, upscale, and correct these images. They just Upload them for sale right away. This is a big X for me as a graphic designer. This is definitely unacceptable. Ai images will Never be perfect, They definitely need a lot of editing in photoshop, correcting flaws, artifacts, details and upscaling. Because if there is No editing involved to make the image look perfect, this is call cheating, trying to deceive customers selling them JUNK digital downloads. Then the customer who paid to download it, then he zooms at the image to see the quality, and then the disaster comes! They can of course complain to Etsy for this too. These "smart newcomers" can not sell a bunch of rubbish to people waiting to make money. They will lose everything in the process. This is a very serious reason for Etsy to shut down accounts.. Anyway, I liked your video. You have a new subscriber to your channel. 👍

Its not that easy as well. If you are starting from zero. You dont have any traffic on youtube or anywhere. SEO for website as well will be even harder in next one year because of AI and Google algo updates. So yes for big players on Etsy its good and possible to have website. But yeah i would recommend to keep your revenue streams multiple so you dont lose everything.

These stores were established a long time ago, at a time when there was sensible competition. Now it is impossible to enter Etsy. The videos about Etsy are the same.

I agree with many points on this video, but the downside is that many people don't trust buying from websites, they prefer the security of buying on platforms. I recently got ripped off when buying from a website; I was sent a product very different from the one advertised, and it is impossible to get my money back, whereas on a platform it would be easy for me to get a refund.

There might be a way to set Etsy up solely as a business instead of using your social security number and then you could try transfering it, but my sister couldn't even give me her old Etsy account. I couldn't change the social security number, and when I asked, they told me it is against their policy to let people transfer accounts.

I started the process of creating my Etsy store with my buyer account, but I stopped the process and would like to open my store from a new account with a new email. In the process I stopped, I entered my personal data (full name, ID, and address), but when I clicked save and continue, they weren't saved because I was missing a section. That means these details don't appear in that section of the store process now. My question is, if I open a new Etsy store with a new account, will that information still be stored on Etsy somehow, and will Etsy penalize my new store for using the same details as the first one, even though they don't appear in the first one?
