Because I Were Shy! Clifford sings a fun English folk song

Singing and laughter was a big part of the soldier's life during the Great War. It wasn't all mud and horror all of the time. In an age of instant music in your pocket we thought we'd let Clifford give you an old Cumberland folk tune! Like and subscribe for more exciting videos just like this in the coming weeks! Clifford & Ollie is a street theatre act created and performed by two friends who ...
Too much junk. Keep it light. 1 puond now will feel like 10 after a few hours
Wish they still made Players Navy Cut. They were a favorite I haven't smoked for 40 years but I might be tempted with a Players
Wow i want to keep all that
You handle those items like a burglar ransacking a house
Currently using this to acquire all the links for my world war one impression.. One of my many references and definetely the most helpful! Great video lads!

Could you make a ww1 german or austro hungarian version?...I can't find videos about personal item anywhere else
We (Royal Dutch military) still used those mess tins until recently. In my experience you lose less of the bits in there if you reverse the big tin around the smaller tin.
Probably shaking form the experience of the war
1:06 so did American soldiers have a spare first aid kit for after they use the one in their pouch on their belt? Or does he just have his in his haversack.
Daym what accent you're speaking, man? It's so sexy
On your razor take the bottom of the part that holds the blade and flip it so you can carry a blade in the razor
This being in character makes it very interesting mind

No prophylactics?
Esta chida la mochila 😃😃👍👍👍
Where condoms?
No way those Hershey bars make it to France un eaten 😂
Where’s the lifted Pervitin?
Got brass knuckles?
No Actual rations?
Those were more commonly kept in pockets for quick use. Also it seems that this guy is at camp so he’s probably having fresh rations and may have eaten all of his K rations already.
What of german ww2 flag?
What the F is an XO cube? C'mon, dude enlighten the uncivilized from across the pond. Anyhow, I love these kit videos. Everything is so neat, and it's packed with "essentials." And you know, once out in the field,.75 % of that stuff is gone. Tea, razor, spoon, mess kit, and foot powder. The rest is clutter.
Hey I was looking for your chocolates video, and now its gone
0:48 "Everybody smokes, everybody wants these" Not me... Yet.

What happened to this series? Why the sudden stop? It's great!
@@MatthewHeraghty could it be they're now having to resort to selling their collections?
@@derrickstorm6976 I was thinking that might be the case, but it was only 3 videos in the series

Sorry I'm late to the party due to the fact that you posted this two years ago. This is outstanding! Subscribed.
Lol good stuff he’s performing, he’s a reenactor I assume.
don't worry, she gained 10 stone after they married
Excellent & Funny [the latter half of being a soldier at war] Girlfriend's photo? The era hair & clothing a must! The Brooklyn accent, like every other guy in the military, according to Hollywood !
Camera: "If I make it to paris-" 😅 Letter: "-my newborn son-" 😮 Flag: "-the sniper opened up on us-" ... Damn, clicked for history, got a great performance to boot.
Barnsley accent?
Sounds like Scouse for me lol
What pipe you got for that leaf? Stanwell i asume?
This makes me want to go through my Search and Rescue pack to make sure I haven't forgotten extra socks in there.
Wow !
Nice ABL knife 😆 luckly Belgium still made them after the war otherwise they would now be to expensive
OUTSTANDING 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Most of this is ww1 gear, not ww2.
I could talk to this guy about ww2 forever
I've watched all three WWII soldier's personal kit videos on this channel. The commonalities across the three different kits is not terribly surprising. All three soldiers were facing similar hardships and privation, and had limited carrying capacity on their persons. Even today, a soldier's personal kit would look very similar. I carried a lot of the same stuff in Iraq and Afghanistan. Different wars in different times, of course. But an Infantryman's basic kit has changed very little.
My kids love to play soldier too.
