The choreography in this movie was really bad and it bombed at the Japanese box office when it came out. The movie was definitely a rush job to capitalize on the "Dance Movie" craze back in 2006. I was expecting so much better and I was like "America's Got talent had better choreographed dance routines than this movie!" LOL!

Crazy part is, this isn't even the original. The original was released in 1975 by a UK band called JIGSAW. The song was particularly very popular in Japan; it stayed on the Billboard charts for 3 years straight during the 70s. So it holds a lot of significance in Japanese pop culture, which is why there are so many remakes and why it is frequently referenced, whether in movies, anime (Jojo even has an entire episode titled "SKY HIGH" and it is a reference to this song), rhythm games, etc. It's an iconic song in Japan. Although, this cover by DJ Miko is actually based more loosely on the 1994 techno cover that was done by another UK artist by the name of Newton. His version and music videos are also still here on YT. And then, you have the newer SKY HIGH 20th Anniversary Mix which was released in 2018 to commemorate DDR's 20th Anniversary; AND as of Sept 2023 for DDR's 25th Anniversary, brand new Challenge Single and Double charts were released! Challenge lv 17s at that! They're both amazing charts and breathe new life into the song. Konami finally made use of the rights to ITG and for the first time, included blatant footswitching technique into the charts! Super exciting. I officially cleared my very first lv. 17 thanks to the new chart! You can check out the new charts on Yuisin's channel! 😊

A veces pienso si la inspiración de esta canción en realidad vino por 'El Ritmo de la Noche' de The Sacados. (Fun fact, es que hay muchas 'inspiraciones' en los primeros tracks de DDR que salieron allá por finales de los 90s, como La Senorita que fácilmente la pensaron en un track de Ricky Martin).
