What about the red dot on the tire? Should it be ignored?
Correct. A common problem with Foresters along with rear wheel bearings simply by driving through a puddle or two. ( ? ) precise description. At 60, it feels like you are driving over those tiny road bumps...
The good guys are always 100's of miles away from where you live.
Great video
Whats the annoying beeping Noice ???
i knew it, my mind was already overthinking and about to take it into a mechanic shop thinking it was my engine, but this is exactly it, having bad vibration, gonna take it tomorrow, thank you so much.
Thank you so much!!
Wow, this machine was cool!
Amazing video ... I have a brand new Ford Expedition with 4 new tires. But one of them has excessive road force and still vibrates after balance, why does it happen with new tires ? I can’t find same tire where I live, can I replace only one tire ? Or I need to replace all four ? Keep in mind they are all new , only 1000 miles
Replace 1
Just got new tires and one tire have just one weight clip on inside.Nothing outside? Is that normal to be unbalanced just on one side?
That's not too unusual. A tire balance issue will always be most noticeable between 60 and 70 mph if there's a problem.
2021 Forester @ only 30k kms and one control arm needs replacement.
What about a vibration at 40-55mph? Non existent at low speeds. Goes away after 60mph.
If this is a front wheel drive and only vibrates on acceleration, I would suspect a C/V axle issue. 40 to 50 is the sweet spot for axle vibration on some models. Would need more description to help any further.
@@Creechimport Hey! Thank you for replying! It’s a 2006 Toyota Sequoia… same color as the one on the lift in your video actually 😂. It’s a 4WD model. But I get the vibration whether it’s 2WD or 4WD so I’ve sort of ruled out a CV axle. I start noticing the hum and vibration at the aforementioned speeds 40-55mph) when accelerating, BUT, even when off the gas pedal at those speeds the hum/vibration stays until out of that speed range whether coasting or accelerating…. It’s the weirdest thing. I was also thinking an unbalanced driveshaft axle or even a wheel bearing… But I checked the wheel bearing where the noise was originating, and everything seemed OK. Maybe I should check the other three wheel bearings 🤷🏼♂️? I checked the driveshaft for any play, and also greased the Zirk fittings and everything looks good to me. Thanks for any advice!
@telecasterman18 Thanks for the additional info. This sounds like a driveline vibration. I would focus on rear drive shaft and associated u-joints.
This one could be challenging
Now being told 2016 Forester 48k miles bushings need replacement! WTF
2014 Forester 56k miles, both sides bushings need replacing I love Subaru but some of the mechanical parts fail far too quickly😮
Subaru Forester 2018 at 100,000 km movement in control arm bushings, replacement cost $2000
Subaru Forester 2018 at 100,000 km movement in control area bushings, replacement cost $2000
What does it mean if you force match the tire like the machine instructs and the verification spin still shows it’s in the red?
Most likely there is some deformity with the tire and it will need to be replaced to correct the road force. We've had this a few times with a brand new tire believe it or not. It happens.
Exactly what Christian Brothers automotive found on my ‘17 Forester. Exactly my description of symptoms too! 80k+ miles
and what they quote at Christian brothers for replacing the bushing. An too does it need an alignment after.
@@uprailman quote is $2000 with Subaru parts (front left & right only) & wheel alignment needed. Sounds astounding with only !00,000 km! 5 years old. Video is below.
What about a class action suit?
Excellent information
thanks brother
Hi why is car pulling to right after new rims same size as stock installed before was going straight?
Nice work!
I recently had my front brakes replaced and a tire rotation. When I left the dealership, they said my bushings and control arms were loose and torn. I would have noticed this, and it wasn’t until I left the dealership that I could CLEARLY feel “thuds” when going over bumps. The situation quickly worsened. I find it strange that a ‘16 Forester with perfect suspension suddenly needs this work, especially since they were trying to get me to do other unnecessary work that day.
A similar thing happened to my wife. Took out 2015 Forrester for tire balancing due to the whining noise the tires were making. Just after that, the heavy clunking sounds started, constant over 60 mph, intermittent at 40 mph. I jacked it up, and the front right lower control arm bushing is shot - easy to move the wheel by hand and the bushing is, practically gone. What happened?!? How did it go from fine to this overnight?

Thank you
I've had 2 alignments done from the INFINITI dealership and from a pop shop and both times the car still was pulling to the right as if nothing was done but they claim they have done the alignment. Could this be the issue they're not addressing in my case? "Improper Road Force Balance"
Did u end up figuring out what is was?Im having a similar problem got 2 alignments car still goes to the left and I have to hold my steering wheel to the right to keep it straight

Thanks for the very informative video. I was having these same 60 to 70 mph minute vibrations and almost bought an axle when all I needed was a proper balancing. Much respect to you sir.
Yeah and I almost got me buying new bearings thanks to a so called mechanic....geezz. Lucky I got them tires balanced good too!
No such thing as a perfect tire I only had once funny on my car a Michelin Energy saver road force of 1 0.00 and 0.00
What of you get a vibration at all speeds above 5?
Thanks Stan, I just got these damn rear tires and at 70 I get a lil vibration. Brand damned new.
Great, informative video. Got new tires and wheels and it has the slight shake at the speed mentioned
Thanks for the video!
You bet!
What is the biggest rim and tire you can road force test?
I'm coming to see you Friday!!!!!
Thank you!!!!
This was so interesting thank you
The best, clear-non-confusing explanation on next level tire balance! Great video and post! 🙏
This was a great informative video. I wish you guys were located in Wisconsin
Do I need to pay to balance my tires every time I have them rotated?
Technology is so cool!
You said there is no perfect tire and you can replace a tire if you can't get it balanced, right? So is that a sales pitch to use to increase tire turnover? An egg is still and egg after you balance it, right?
That's not a cheap machine boys n girls....
Do i need to balance the 4 tires or just the 2 front Tires?
They all roll. So... ;-) Come on people common sense might be rare. But there's no need to abuse! LOL 😂
Had been going through this issue for a month now. Watched this video last night and went for a balancing today and got the vibrations down. Respect from India for making such informative videos
I’ll tell you what this will catch on and become more common place and let me tell you this will be a game changer for the cheap tire market..think of it now we have a way to reject a bad tire that fails to fall into reasonable spec.
You got it all wrong! What happens now is that cheaper tires can be easily accepted and used down the road. Because there's a way to overcome some fabrication issues. That otherwise would be a severe warranty problem! ;-) Now a "bomb shell" as they say in Top Gear.... Surprisingly to many, cheap tires, read mostly from Asian tires manufacturers. In spite of practicing really low prices. Do have quite reasonable fabrication means! Cost cuts out of their factories. As more to do with high competition level and huge fabrication numbers, usually associated with very low salaries, almost no marketing costs and very low R&D costs easier/faster/cheaper access to raw materials! Let's be honest copying is also way cheaper than develop from scratch! With this said remember their fabrication arsenal many times counts with quite modern and developed equipment! ;-)
Great video!
What if its between 39-44mph? Same thing?
If it only vibrates when accelerating and is front wheel drive then I would suspect a bad axle and is common.. A tire vibration at that speed would be due to a bent wheel, or maybe a defective tire which is more concerning. I would have your mechanic look at this as soon as possible.
Thanks for da video. Does the code reader check for find cleared codes.
What is the average price to get the tires rebalanced bc my car starts vibrating over 60 mph
If you hit a little dip that is sitting upright on the road at like 20 mph. Will I need a tire balance?
No. Tire balance last about 5k miles. If your steering wheel shakes at high speed thats your tires being unbalanced.
@@krayzietj - Yep, depending on the road quality and usage that's a decent ball park number. I usually call it a yearly task! Along with double check the alignment. It really make a huge difference in the life expectation of a set of tires and suspension/steering components! ;-)
