    @HomeSkillet489 But the New Mass is deficient in doctrine,though not downright sinful, it is inferior in almost every respect. It is spiritual fast-food compared to the grandiosity of the TLM in regards to: the content of the prayers, the clear expression of the true doctrine of the Church, the careful assimilation of the reality of the Real Presence in the rubrics and of course the "smells and bells", as some call the aesthetics. I also recommend you read the (cardinal) "Ottaviani Intervention"

    @danthrplgst But... if God doesn't care how we worship, why didn't he accept the sacrifice of Cain? it was worship, but He didn't like it. Nor did he like the worship of Nadab and Abihu so they were consummed by Our Lord's wrath, because they offered "strange fire".

    @assasincomedy Read Michael Davies' "Pope Paul's New Mass", the most emminent expert on the Latin Mass of the 20th c. and an expert on how the New Mass came to be. He starts a chapter with a welsh poem that is very prophetic (paraphrasing) "They have removed the altar...and in its place what have they replaced it with? A table....a sad table." MIchael Davies was ALWAYS in good standing with the church Benedict XVI said when he died that a the church lost a great expert on the Mass.

    What a shame that the Novus Ordo mass has strayed so far from the Tridentine form. I am not completely opposed to the priest facing the congregation but I have a serious problem with the lack of reverence and solemnity that Vatican II allowed for in the new mass. It simply went too far in abandoning the notion that the mass should uplift the participants, to make them feel as though they are experiecing heaven on earth. Why do the vast majority of priests no longer chant? Where is the incense?

    Well what I had in mind was a special sunday mass that will be advertised well in advance and well planed out like we would do when we have a special guest like one of the people from ewtn or special artist like tajac or matt price visit our parish. I want to do it to garner interest, Father Gabet agreed he might do it if I can arrange it and get the premission from our rector to barrow the church for it, that is to have another priest say mass at it, and see if people would like to do it often

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    one thing at a time, i am going to try something next time I hit the morning mass

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    I am sure that if I wanted to do so, and enough lead time, I could get Father Gabet to do it at My home church if I asked for a privet mass for my family, the motu proprio provides me the right to that and its on the religious leaders to try to provide for it if they are asked. I think we should grow the community at sacred heart first its very fledgeling for the daily mass, we need more people to start comming and get the word out, that is where we must start, if you ask me.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    I know there is, That is part of the reason Father Gabet is in Fort Wayne, and there are workshops by the socity of the cannons regular of St John Cantious of Chicago they are a socity bent on preserving the old ways for the future as that is our honored heritage. I just dont get enough support for a latin mass though, I try to expose the kids to the latin responses when I serve the english mass, I reply in latin, and tell them about it hopeing to spark intrest in it for the future.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    therefore we just dont have enough priests around that can do it, let alone want to do so as they have been too influnaced by the ways of the novas ordo. It will take time for the movement to spread, and the Saint Mother Theodora Gurrin community is getting more visiters all the time, also the Sunday mass is the largest draw for Sacred Heart at the 11:30 Tridentine mass they do a low mass like they do during the week one sunday, and a missa cantata every other, though is not with a full group

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    While Father Andrew expressed interest in learining it, it isn't that simple, he is not trained in the rite, and Father George Gabet only has soo much time since he has to cover an area ove 100 miles in lenth as being the Priest from the Fraternity. there is one more that is following Father Gabets footsteps though he has about three years left in his seminary training from Sacred Heart Parish where the community has its home. And most of the older priests that can celebrate it are retired.

    Besides...even though the chapel can get a bit crowded, it's also very intimate. That said, having the Holy Day Masses in the big church at 10:30 is a nice change of pace (and space). If you'd like to see the chapel, BTW, the poster of this video also has a video of this year's Corpus Christi Mass. Regards,

  • @CopperJenny
    @CopperJenny Před 15 lety

    Logistics, mainly. The fact is, St. Matthew's is a very large parish, with many Sunday Masses. I suppose Father COULD schedule the TLM sometime after 1:00pm, but I think most of the regular TLM-goers prefer a morning Mass. (And I agree with them. My sons are altar boys and there is no question that earlier is better for us.)

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    I know it is, I am saying just haveing either mass in latin would be nice, there is a tridentine mass in fort wayne where I sometimes attend, but my home parish is just a novus ordo with a very kind very pious priest who comes from Mangalor India, he is definetly not liberal but does things a bit differant, like bowing to the tabornacle, he just bows and not genuflects like the older priests do, or lighting all the candles for a solemnity they only do it on the actual day not the vigil often.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    We dont normaly use incense except for occasions like easter. The community I told you is the Mother Gurin latin mass community of the priestly fraturnity of St Peter, its in For wayne. It is a tridentine mass I sometimes go to the daily mass in morning.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    the movement is growing, I have been trying to get my camera to tape the daily mass at the Saint Mother Theodora Gurin latin mass fssp in fort wayne indiana for months but i cant get it to transfer off my camera no matter how short the video is.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    it would be nice if I could even get a mass around here to be like the ewtn mass, the main parts of the mass are latin, and the responces are in latin, its very unique, i think its a 1970 hybrid though, but its not that hard to learn the parts for the priest even if they dont know latin since its just the responces and not the whole thing.

  • @manga12
    @manga12 Před 15 lety

    i wish we did stuff like this at the mother gurin latin mass community sfps. but the most we have is a missa cantata high mass, and usually without even a decon since there are soo few to go around, and there are only about 75 that come to sunday mass give or take. our church is very plain where we have it, but there are several where it is very befiting if only we could get to use one of the other churches for it. though they have done a few weddings in the 90's at saint peters parish.
