Growing up as an adolescent in the 90s, SIlverchair was one of my favorite bands. They were just a few years older than me, so it was amazing to see such a young band do so well. I followed their career all the way to the end and still love every one of their records. This song was a single off what I consider their magnum opus, Diorama. To this day it still blows me away how beyond his years as a writer, arranger, and performer Daniel Johns (the principal songwriter and frontman) was at only 21-22 when he made this record.
The cover is acoustic and vocals, with bass, piano, cajon, and some strings added afterwards to help fill out the performance. Thanks for watching, and please go listen to the album Diorama from start to finish.

Years ago my father messaged you on social media thanking you for getting me into music, and now I’m finally old enough to be thanking you myself. You really inspired me to pick up the guitar, and now I’ve been playing for 6 years. Without hearing Oliver Boyd and The Remembralls I don’t know where I’d be honestly, music has helped me through so much in my life and your who I can thank for that. I’m a junior in high school now and I really think I want to do something with music as a career for the rest of my life. Beautiful performance of a beautiful song! Diorama is really good, but Neon Ballroom edges it out for me, personally. Their entire discography is really solid (and varied) though!

Thanks Kenz! Yeah, I couldn't love Silverchair (and Daniel Johns) more, but their sound was never aligned with mine, so I never thought to attempt a cover. With that said, I feel like this turned out pretty decent despite being outside my regular wheelhouse lol
