As a black web developer and IT professional for the last 11 years, I have learned one thing. The corporate environment of America IS HOSTILE towards black professionals that do not perform like court jesters for the dominant society. They feel like if you are among their brightest and best you have to "look" and "act" in a way that is pleasing and non-threatening to them. You cannot just be yourself because that is unacceptable. You can't have an accent from a southern location or else you are unintelligent. You can't dress like a black person or you are a thug. I can go on and on but I have learned that no matter how good I am at my job I am and will never be accepted as I am. I do not want to be another mans clown or buffoon. HR departments have targeted me for saying something when treated unfairly or in a racist manner. I have been black balled, lied on, lied to, laughed at, disregarded, and everything bad emotion in the book and I'm fucking tired! (excuse my language but that word gets my point across). I am going to work for myself and do my own thing no matter what the outcome is I am going to gamble on myself. That seems to be the only workplace I can be respected in without tap dancing for "massa" and his guests. I hope this motivates someone else to do the same. Stop trying to fix a system broken on purpose and let's build our own...

White peoples came to the Americas and basically built the country up from scratch. Yes slavery helped contribute to the wealth of the nation but like 10%. When I see black cry disparity I have to wonder why can’t they lift themselves up? I’ve heard all the excuses which continually blames white peoples but am still baffled when seeing whole Hispanic towns and cities that have been newly in existence with the same humble beginnings. Look at Atlanta, Houston very much dominated by black populations but still somehow it’s the white peoples fault. I see successful black with money and power still have conversations in which their speech reflects suffering at the hands of whites. So if money and power aren’t signs of success to black peoples then what is? Is the end game to see white peoples as slaves? Is it to see the disappearance of white peoples altogether? Seriously interested in understanding the thought process of victimhood in a world that doesn’t promise fairness to anyone and rewards hard work and tenacity and cunning and intelligence.

A todo se le aplica el término “Latino” este término es tan sólo el nombre de una población cercana a Roma que dio nombre a un idioma “Latín” que propagaron los romanos por toda Europa y parte de oriente próximo y norte de África. La gente que se hace llamar latinos no tienen ni idea de lo que significa. Ese término no es raza, ni tan siquiera etnia y nadie que no sea originario de la región italiana del Lazio (Latium) y hable latín se puede denominar “latino” todos los de América serán Sud,centro,norte y caribe, nadie habla latín por ahí, y sus derivados no se parecen en nada al antiguo latín romano. Por tanto afro/latinos no existe, ni latino/americano, en todo caso serán, de habla hispana, portuguesa, inglesa, y francesa. Se que esta reflexión es inútil para muchos, pero se estan sacando las cosas de contexto. Mucha culpa de ello la tienen los estadounidenses y sus famosas clasificaciones raciales, y los medios como papagayos parlantes repiten incansables el susodicho término.

Talking about the youth incrisis and the older generation at the end was great. Because i am seeing that in the community of Portland Oregon NOW. I have been here since 2019 and am pregnant on my 2nd baby with a 3 yr old as well. And im seeing both older and youth coming to me because there is this disconnection. Im so proud to be a mother of TODAY because i feel im giving that Hope. But also i need my Portland community to take that leap when they still only look to me for doing everything. I believe Ben contributed to the short lived magazine in the 1930's, Jones, which was previously called The Wheeze. A rag about Hollywood, but with fake letters, and fake ads. It made fun. Gene Fowler was another contributor. I have an issue of Jones, and upon opening the cover, on the inside cover is a full page ad for Will Connell's spiral bound book, In Pictures. The image is a middle finger in a circle of smoke. The whole page. Pretty cocky intro. Good luck finding an issue.
