The FATAL Flaw with The FORD 5.0
FIRST remember to SUBSCRIBE and like if you ant to see more like this...
If you have or are looking for a 5.0/302 ford please be careful doing anything with the front end of these low deck fords. use the proper torque spec and use the right bolts, believe me, I found put the hard way....
also check out @Thecraig909 @BREW2LFOXBODY and @richardholdener1727 they have lots of content on small block fords and I highly recommend checking them out
let me know what you guys think about this, any feedback is much appreciated...

YOU NEED a 3rd gen Camaro
zhlédnutí 1,3KPřed dnem
You need a 3rd gen camaro (or firebird if that's your thing). There's a huge aftermarket for them. They're incredibly reliable, and they're just fun to drive around. Values are going up, and they're getting harder and harder to find in good shape. Plus, they're just a slick dependable 80s car that gets looks from everyone.
NEW CARS made to FAIL???? or is there more to that?
zhlédnutí 53Před měsícem
Is it the cars fault? or the owner? yes, cars are designed to fail within a set amount of time. But we're still supposed to maintain them properly to make sure they last.

I was stupid enough to trade in my 1991 Camaro Z28 just to impress a girl, back in 2007. These cars are amazing.
These cars are insanely expensive with 350 under the hood in great condition. I will settle and just take that rattletrap foxbody, I am already thinking bout 347 stroker and weight reduction.
That's kinda my plan, modify the mustang (for cannonball) and keep the camaro as a comfortable weekend car.
❤ Best engine ever manufactured in the world simplest made easiest to get parts for..😊
Oh yeah, just the freeze plug hated me
@@theredtruckyt1193 They make a simple freeze plug that you can just set in there and tighten up the nut now you don't have to beat them in there
In a 40 yr old car....
Why did the freeze plug blow out? Did it have the wrong fluid? I mean technically the freez plug is saposed to pop out, so doesnt that prove reliability?
I was thinking I over paid for my IROC but seeing what people are paying for lesser cars I guess it wasn’t that bad.
Why care how much you paid for it if it makes ya happy, Ya can't put a price on that
If you're going to "turn it up", dont forget to "reinforce the block" with the solid steel "spacer" between the engine and trans, and the "accessory 'spacer' "/mounting bracket - so that the V8 nature of the block does not "morph" into two 'straight 4' blocks...
The crackiest blocks ever...
The sn cars are not the same as the foxbody.
So 1994-2004 they still used the fox platform but it was modified, front steering geomotry was different, the whole chassis was reinforced, and there were many little tweaks here and there. Just like the thunderbird, cougar, fairmont, ltd (the small one) and the mark8 they're all foxbodys, but they're not exactly the same as a "foxbody mustang" (except the 79-86 capri)
I haven't seen one of those cracks yet but I've seen the block crack in half with high RPM runs over time.
Not a flaw if it's related to owner stupidity.
You've done it, haven't you? You can do 30 ft lbs with a standard boxed end wrench. This is a flawed design.
Just because some idiot over torqued it or used a long bolt in a shallow hole does NOT equate to a fatal flaw...that's "user error"...big difference.
No, this is definitely a flaw. This should never be an issue, and the fact you, and others, are ok with crap like this disturbs me greatly.
Never had a problem with that with any of my engines, but good to know.
So ditch the 302 and swap in a 351 Windsor built
351W are an excellent engine!
True
Just bought an 88 iroc. 5 speed. Mint. Everyone wants it
Yes the 3rd gen is the best !!! Check out my 92 Camaro!
I own an 82 Camaro pace car, but I actually kinda want to sell it
Absolutely Not!! Because every driver w a kia or yundai will only insist on being ahead of you And will do so at all costs! No joke, Becareful and get yourself dual daschcams
Agreed, a dashcam is essential and I should probally get one soon for all of my cars.
I believe thats a Army base in South Carolina.
More like I need a 4th gen Camaro!!!!
I agree 3rd gens are going up in value but 4th gens are so daily-able especially the later 3.8 cars or ls1 cars
I love my hardtop Firebird with 350 swap.
I think it's 130,000 miles by the looks of it, but still an awesome car. My first car was a 1983 Z28 with T-Tops and a 5-Speed manual. I'd pick a 3rd Gen today if I had the spare garage space because I'd never let it sit outside.
I bought it initially thinking it had 130k with the sagging headliner and the pedal wear but after finding out the car sat for a long time I kinda doubt it.(i should prob make a video on it) Ether way 30k or 130k I plan on driving it as much as posible and I'm not to worried about resale value
@@theredtruckyt1193 I got mine in 1986 and it had 33k miles. Enjoy the heck out of this one! I put nearly 150k hard miles on it (16 year old kid back then) and enjoyed every minute of it, leaking T-Tops and all.
You got a bunch of gems in that driveway
10 gs that's a steal

I remember that no cup holder it was annoying but still my favorite car
Love dusting shitboxes in my minivan
I daily a 1980 isuzu KB. Its agricultural as hell, but it works
its all fun and games untill you get into a bad accident in a car with no airbags
Very true, but I've seen an old dodge monaco hit a new silverado. The guy in the monaco hurt his wrist. The guy in the chevy almost lost his leg
Better than getting a tesla!!!
VERY TRUE 😎
I want a 1969 camaro next!
As I daily a 200k 81 Corolla, I will say its asking for trouble. It wont always work great, but if your savvy you can almost always make it home. Other than that, super reliable.
I don't think that toyotas gonna fail ya anytime soon. 43 years old with 200k,grab a timing light, run some ethanol free gas in it with some seafoam once or twice a year it will run like a top year round.
You can, but you shouldnt lol. Stuff breaks all the time and whoever tells you you shouldnt hasnt tried for longer than a couple months. Theyre good as a weekend toy and a second back up car but forcing an aging car to giddy up and go is excessive
Oh yeah I agree. Making sure a car is squared away before you start driving it all over the place is a big part of it(even if its just a weekend toy). Belts get old, parts wear out and stuff just brakes. But it's just like newer cars, I've seen springs snap, calipers seized and electronics go on cars less than 5 years old. Yes a newer car is gonna be more dependable, but it's very case sensitive.
You can daily a 30s ford if you want
Would be hard to keep up with traffic
I daily an almost 60 year old car. 1966 Chevrolet Corvair, its my first car at 17.
I daily a 52 yr old car, 1972 MGB GT hatch, sitting in it rite now at a starbucks. We're going Miami Florida to NC next week w no worries 😁 it's totally reliable
As the owner of a 96 Z28, yeah they're fun to drive and possible to daily, but not feasible with current gas prices.
How far are you commuting? I daily a XKR supercharged 4.0 v8, gets less than 20mpg highway and I don't make that much money
Lemmie guess, automatic, ether way any other the cars with efi tend to get about 5-10mpg less than they're carburated counterpart.
Depending on what carburater you have
I daily an ‘89 Sierra C1500, and now an ‘83 Harley Sportster. Sierra’s off the road right now because of front end issues, but otherwise I wouldn’t trade it for the world. EDIT: Sportster burned up in a house fire earlier this week. Already looking for another Harley. Preferably an Evo Sportster or maybe an early Dyna.
That's a weird sounding ford Sierra trim

Stupidest shit ever.. Only has 30k miles on it, it's practically new as it is.Try that with something that old, with 250k+miles, and 6 previously neglectful owners 😂
Absolutely! Really something like that with all upgrades and tech we have these days. My Camaro is just going to be a weekend warrior and something to take to car shows.
I daily a 26 year old car
Lol try no ac in vegas.
That is the reason I won't get a 65 Shelby cobra replica! Arizona says "Try Me with no ac" 😂
@@da602hustler ugh gross. Lived in Phoenix for 5 years. It's hotter there. We Are supposed to be around 110 all week though 😭
There are after-market cup holders and consoles you can get for your car ranging from 8 USD to 500 USD give or take.
No shit. An most claiming something that they didn’t do
Wow - you even wanted it with steelies and ugly hubcaps?
