Thanks man, it's a great bike I like it a lot. I've done the other side of that at least a couple dozen times without issue. That's my first time attempting that alternate path, hence why I went out and checked it first. I think it was noticeably softer, I'm guessing from not getting tamped down by 4X4s and SXSs multiple times a day. The front wheel seemed to bog, I spun the rear and was down before I could get a foot down. Figure I might air down a little next time, I got a nice little portable electric pump to air back up with. Should probably get a more waterproof bag while I'm at it! I have a decent waterproof bag liner from my Army days but its real big, like rucksack sized, and would take up a lot of my bag. I could always use more ziplocks for the important stuff. I hear you on riding alone. As much as I'd like to go out with my main riding buddy more it would really cut down my opportunities to go out since he's got other stuff going on. I generally try to stick to the more trafficked trails solo, that way if I wipe out bad or have a breakdown I won't have too much of a hard time hitching a ride back. I take it pretty light when I'm alone, I save the hard stuff for when I have my buddy around to help me out. That's awesome you did the IDBDR. My dad's a long time dual sport/dirt bike rider and he's thinking of coming out and doing the COBDR with me next year. He has a TW200 he just put an ATV rear tire on but is thinking of getting something a little bigger for that. He's not a little guy and doesn't think the T-dub plus gear will haul his ass over some of those passes! Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it.
