EVs are the best! And people that don’t think so are uneducated and ignorant. This people like you are still making videos like this to educate people that don’t know how easy it is to own an EV. Plus you save $300/month on gas and never need to bring your car to have any maintenance done. Ever.

I'm suspicious of any appliance with an app. Wonder why GE spent $ to develop an app? Because they WANT consumers to use it. Wonder why certain basic features that are easily included on the machine itself can only be "unlocked" with the app? Because the manufacturer WANTS consumers to use the app. Wonder why you might need updates to keep your washing machine "running smoothly?" You don't, but GE wants you to think you do, because... they WANT you to use the app. They want to normalize connected appliances. But why? Why do they so want you to use an app? Why do they want their appliances connected to the internet? What do they get out of it? Here are a few very possible scenarios. 1) Your personal information and usage is tracked. And sold. You can bet that's already happening. (See point 8!) 2) GE gets kickbacks from detergent manufacturers and distributors (amazon) when you set up automatic orders ( a.k.a. "Smart Reorder") of these products. Once you "set it and forget it," look out for price creep. On vacation? Did you buy detergent on sale at home? It's on you to remember to stop incoming orders that you might not need. Will you remember? You can bet the beneficial financial arrangement (aka kickbacks) is already in place. 3) Your machine is updated such that it is inoperable UNLESS you have it connected. But why...? 4) The app updates the machine such that you can no longer decline future updates. Perhaps that has happened already. But why?... 5) Your machine is updated in any number of ways that do not benefit you. Remember when an HP printer "update" added "Dynamic Security," to thousands of printers, effectively bricking any printer using third party ink? It happened. A washer/dryer update could, for example, render your machine inoperable unless you have an active Smart Reorder account. 100% possible. And easy. 6) Or perhaps the now required app becomes obsolete and the new one costs $4.99. And then... 7) Perhaps THAT app becomes obsolete and the functional updated one requires an ANNUAL fee of $4.99. Now you're paying nearly $60/year just for the privilege of using the very expensive machine you already paid for. (Anyone else hate being trapped into annual software subscriptions? Remember the days when you paid a license fee for software, and you actually owned it? And it was up to you to decide to pay for an upgrade, only when and if you wanted to?) 8) A variation on the theme: Perhaps they remove many of the currently available wash/dry cycles, only allowing the now "premium" cycles to consumers who pay the annual app fee or who buy their detergent via "Smart Reorder." Or both. (They'll decide which cycles to remove based on the usage information you've been giving them via the app in the first point in this list!) 9) All of these things are possible, just with a little "update" meant to "keep your machine running smoothly." And you can bet the user agreements you have to agree to will cover any scenario a GE exec can dream up.

This video is no joke. This device is the best appliance I've ever owned. They consistently add new features that actually work (the pet fur mode is insanely good!). If you do not have one if these and you have no kids, get one of you have kids, get two.

You do not need to replace the filter, you just need to clean it every month. Clean the mesh on the filter, as well, each month. Easy peasy.

I discovered that a residue had built up on the mesh side of the filter, thus causing a limitation in air flow and resulting damp laundry. It took longer and longer for each load to finish, and hardly any lint was being produced. Once I washed the filter, the next load was dry and a massive amount of lint being held back spread onto the filter. I blame either Downey softener or Oxiiclean powder for that residue. Also it is important to wash fine lint off of the foam filter. I do that about weekly.

I like mine aside from the lint filter, but not having to transfer clothes more than makes up for it.
