Im sorry to hear this. I hope you were able to have a revision. I lost my husband to gastric bypass. Also consider high dose Thiamine supplementation. Check out Elliot Overton's channel. Many gastrointestinal symptoms and neurological symptoms are caused by Thiamine deficiency which happens because the part of the intestine that absorbs Thiamine is bypassed. These surgeons are little help with nutrition after surgery. They don't even know how to test Thiamine status properly.
Given the rapid weight loss I am assuming that this involved surgery. If so that should be stated. People need to know if this was done in a healthy manner or if it involved a deliberate alteration of major organs.

@@joa5641 That's unfortunate. Deliberate maiming of major intestinal organs and causing malabsorption and malnutrition on purpose. Hardly anyone escapes consequences of these operations at least not going down the line. If you don't get severe problems early on, you get them eventually down the line after 10 or 15 years.

I also got the arm implant and I had to get a blood transfusion because I wouldn’t stop bleeding until I took it out I hope you feel better.

Yes I had a great supply. Only time my supply dipped was when I returned to work - I didn't pump right. But that can happen to everyone, not necessarily DS related. Now I am rebuilding my supply slowly but surely.

Congrats on your pregnancy! As far as iron levels, I was low too. I'm still low, I believe I'm at a 10 as well. I would get the infusion now. it's amazing how much the baby needs iron for proper development. The more you can do now the better. Do you know what you're having?
I'm having a boy :) I figure better safe than sorry with the infusions. Just hope they can get the referral going before he decides to get here lol

How long had it been since you have seen a Bari doctor? I wonder how long your levels were low. I am trying to get the distal bypass which will make issues with levels. <3
I usually see a bari doc in december but this was my first time since getting pregnant. You just have to try and see which vites work for your body as everyone is different. Unfortunately sometimes with iron some people's body don't absorb enough like mine. The part that absorbs iron in my case is very minimal, especially since they took part of it out when I had an obstruction so now I potentially have even more issues with iron yet others with my same type of surgery have no problem with it. Strange how it works out like that haha
I have . my surgeon won't do anything. I'm going to a specialists hospital. I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. did you not have any signs at all? iv had pain and not being able to eat since. iv lost 45 lbs :(
what caused it? :( was it adhesions?
+Lindsey Atkins Adhesions are what caused my obstruction. There was no way to prevent it. But them not catching it in time caused the sepsis. It helps if you know what tests to ask for (CT with and without contrast). I sat there for days without the contrast that didn't show anything and had to yell at everyone to do something. Also helps if you have a support buddy who can do it on your behalf
I'm pretty sure I have a hernia from my gallbladder surgery. I have been in so much pain for months and no one will help me.
Lindsey Atkins Have you asked your surgeon about it or just the primary? Don't give up if you're in pain! Maybe ask for a referral somewhere like a gastroenterologist?

+Lindsey Atkins I'm doing well - currently pregnant :) I had my obstruction I believe a year and a half out. It can happen with any abdominal surgeries but mine was so bad because I had necrotic (dead) bowel which gave me sepsis. I wish I would have known about it before but it is what it is.

Did the constipation cause any weight gain ? 2 years out w/DS and still bad diarreah .What to do ?
Gary Hunt Constipation didn't cause me any weight gain. I gained a tiny bit of weight from too much sugary drinks, like starbucks. Are you taking a Probiotic? It is a pill found in grocery and drug stores and even vitamin stores that have healthy bacteria that is good for the intestines.
the best revenge you can get, is to get over it, get yourself a make over and DO YOU, stop crying, its hell but we all go threw some type of BS in our life, get on your needs and pray about it..i know your scARED, CUS YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD A PERSON IN YOUR CORNER, but that toad is no prince, the best thing you can do is to be able to get back on your feet, cus he wont expect that you can with out him, show him you can.
