Vincenzo, I checked the price of the Admok M400 on Aliexpress and it is $38-$40. So I think for $40 it is certainly worth the price. I'm thinking of buying it!

Coming back to value - I think your rating is very fair. I'm in the UK but it seems to be for sale for 100-110 rmb domestically in China, or ~15 usd. I wish we could get it for something like that, it'd be £30 posted to the UK.

Now I don't want it 😂 I kind of avoid #5 nibs, and the pen is too small also, the 20x size is just too thin and short for my hand. Better wait to see if they try the 100x size, thay would be a huge hit 😬

Thanks you for another interesting review. I have two of the Admok M800 pens, and I am content with them, so won't be seeking out the M400, but it's always good to be informed about what's available.

If you compare the price of an M400 by Pelikan to the Admok, it would not be that unreasonable. But, I do think it is overpriced. I have the Admok 800 which I thought was a little high but it is certainly a nice pen especially with the Schmodt nib. I own the Pelikan M205 which i think nk is the same size as the M400 but has a gold nib and it does have an ink window. I think Admok missed the boat bu not havong one which would have made it more attractive to buyers amd would have an added feature that is not one the Pelikan M400. Greetings from Panama. I have just started in the world of fountain pens because I am left-handed. I have 4 Jinhao pens and 2 HongDian, I feel that the Jinhao are better than the Hongdian. They are all fine tips and, with Montblanc inks, the difference in paper models is felt.

Another great recap Vincenzo. You showed us some wonderful pens. I'll leave them for others to possibly get. Those are some nice J. Herbin inks. I had seen that Life Kleid notebook you showed, but I don't remember which site. I may have to go look and get one to try out myself. The Admok M400 looks like a nice addition. I decided to get a Faber-Castell Hexo that is on the way, & one other Italian pen - The Pineider Avatar Twin Tank Touchdown. A nice group of pens you were using and also the resurrected pens. Have a wonderful vacation. It appears you've come up with some solutions that will work for you while you are on your trip. Have fun and looking forward to your return & vacation recap.

Hi Vincenzo, unhappily for the Hongdian S24, only about ~20 pieces have been done and sold for about 180$, and no more should be manufactured. The Shanghai Dude wrote: "the total units are much less than 300, 22X or something. And, FYI, towards the year end, there will be HAN in steel nib. That will be affordable and you might get it before Christmas.". For Visconti, I still see some debate about that the steel nib could be bock. It seems they have changed their nibs 2 or 3 times. Gold are without any doubt in house (Giotto and Giottino). Apart from this, thank you for this lastly weekly recap before vacation. Perfect sync, you will come back when I myself leave for my vacation, and I will be pretty happy to watch your videos during my holidays :-). Oh I've seen in your notebook that you could stop at Cannes: I guess you will visit for sure "la promenade de la croisette" but if you have time, try also "la croix des gardes" (the small pedestrian path/small street which rises with restaurant and shops all along). No way to be disappointed, I wish you excellent holidays and road/Boat trip !

If the Hongdian S24 ( if it actually exists) is really sterling silver, it will be beautiful but I agree with you regarding price, and I'd rather buy a Leonardo, Gioia, etc. I saw the MOST beautiful Moltini at the Triangle Pen Show! Truphae; in the U.S. has them now. Cary Yeager showed it to me, and oh my, how lovely. But, it's priced far out of my league. Hopefully, they have some reasonably priced models as well.

Hi Vincenzo, quite happy to see you reviewing Faber Castell pens, because it is a bit the "forgotten brand" by fountain pen lovers, and really unhappily. The Hexo is an outstanding pen for the price with simple but excellent engineering. For the nibs, all my faber Catell pens have 0 problem, ready to write. These nibs have their own "feel" and "character" (mainly the F, the M and B tends to be very very smooth), an excellent alternative to the usual jowo, schmidt and bock .... Thank you for this review !

You are spot on re pricing…let us all keep in mind that the near perfect pen, the Platinum 3776 with a huge excellent 14k nib can be purchased everyday for around $120 US delivered. the Lamy 2000 sweet spot is real and takes some time to learn the way to hold the nib consistently so it writes smooth and easy. keep up the the good fight to make it work for you.

I have the Ambition and I don't love how it feels (uncomfortable step-down from body to section) but I LOVE the nib. I also find neither a cartridge or converter fits well. I definitely should've gone with a different pen. I like the Loom because of the grip. I wish it hadn't been discontinued.

Ive got several Hongdian pens and every one is a good writer,.....and I was surprised because they're made in China.

I have 3 Grupa now. They are reliable, sturdy and comfortable. And I love their candy colors.

I have the Loom, the Neo Slim, and the Hexo - all 3 pens write beautifully! Faber Castell nibs have been consistently good. Definitely an underrated brand.

Hi Mr.V! Thanks for giving us a heads-up on these FC pens that do tend to slip under the radar. I agree with you that the Hexo is the most attractive pen of the bunch. Don't really care for all those rubber grips, etc. May have to put a FC Hexo with broad nib in my collection!

My 1st two F-C pens were the Loom with fine and medium nibs. I don't know why they discontinued this fine writing instrument. My Grip is a light pen that writes well too. Finally I purchased a He do with a broad nib. To my surprise this pen 'burps' from time to time. Yes it has a converter but it burps. Wrong ink? Not sure. A great pen company. Great smooth nibs (Well with the Hexo exception.).

To me, Hexo is The Best among these 3 pens, that's for sure! If one has a chance to try only one Faber Castell budget pen, let him try the Hexo! I've got mine a couple weeks ago, and I love it. It's a very well made pen (SBREBrown has a great in-depth review on it) - it feels solid without being heavy, it's elegant and it's functional - the cap aligns with the facets on the barrel every time, it posts deeply, it's made of aluminum, but it's not light and flimsy - the barrel is filled with plastic so the whole construction feels more solid than bare aluminum, it has some satin coating, that doesn't feel like plastic or metal, but it's very smooth to the touch without being to shiny. The nib is stiff, so it's approachable for ballpoint users, or for those of us that are more "heavy handed" on their pens. I understand, that all budget pens by Faber Castell have a No 5 nibs, and they are already great, but if in the future Faber Castell will manage to make The Hexo with No 6 interchangeable nib units (like Jowo, for example) that would be fantastic!

Hexo, I like the looks and seems a viable solution to Lamy Safari and Al-Star so I may explore owning one.

They also make some fine inks (in a great bottle).
