Honestly I always liked the prospect of hiding on an island and building up a force there where they can't touch you. Unfortunately there's only like 2 or 3 missions in the campaign where you can actually do that :(

Well as you could see, I experimented to see if it's possible without the doggo and it's not so I guess losing the sword guys is ok. Plus, I don't see a reason why the sword bearers would die when giving him the sword, feels more like they knew they couldn't fight so they just ran away when their task was completed so it's still kinda in the spirit of the run hahaha

@@AmonsChallenges I was just worried you hadn't seen it ha ha. I like to think the two dudes are riding on The Good Boy's shoulders like the Hobbits riding on the nets, watching it smash the heck out of everything 😂. Thanks for all the entertainment over these videos, they've inspired me to give this challenge a go myself (although on moderate mode, I'm not a masochist) having not played the game for years so thank you 👍

Yeah probably some kind of glitch (or maybe just me screwing up something in the editing department), the cyclops is the only unit worth 4 supply and I had all 8 of them alive the whole time.

Tbh I went mad trying to play it regularly hahahahah

Agree that the new Gaia is bad, but they still have time to switch it up (at least a bit), nothing is set in stone yet

Appreciate it! And yes, the guardian mission was a huge pain, but it was like a fun little puzzle. Plus, it definitely isn't a boring level, which helped for sure.

Thank you, really appreciate it :) Those Exodia pieces were such a pain to make because the camera (or caravans) just keep moving all the time and I had to reposition the image every few frames. But I am extremely glad how it turned out, was definitely worth it. Even caught myself laughing at it a couple of times and I was the one who made the video hahahah

And Cerberus and all the horrible stuff that accompany it are waiting for you :D

Not sure if you mean rushing out workers and doing wood only in the beginning or beating the base with your heroes and siege towers only, but the answer is yes :D

Thankfully, the Necrons are all obedient and they don't need to be shot by the friendly nearby officer hahahha But yeah, the footage is done, I just have to edit the video and unfortunately that bit does take a while. It's about 2-3 days of playing and 2-3 weeks of editing :(

@@AmonsChallenges I am not the best when it comes to wh40k lore, but I think most of the time necrons do not even die or get destroyed, they merely take critical damage and get teleported back, so technically you cannot fail that challenge! 2-3 days of playing does not sound that bad, but man 2-3 weeks of editing?! You sure are dedicated and/or have nerves of steel...

​@@clone3_7 I am dedicated, I do have nerves of steel... But I also have a dayjob which kinda takes a lot of my time and energy. If I could only make CZcams videos, I think I could make them a lot more often. I managed to make the Norse campaign video in about 10 days and that was while I took a couple of vacation days so I definitely think I can make videos in a tempo that is a lot faster than 2-3 weeks hahaha

In my defense, I was still a deathless challenge runner baby back then so my deathless brain wasn't that developed yet hahahahah

Of course... I kinda have the philosophy that if a game wasn't completed on the hardest difficulty that I'm not sure if I can even consider it completed. Especially if it's a "normal" hardest difficulty and not one of those that force you to restart the game if you die once.

Oh don't I know it hahahaha One of the most iconic games ever! Sure would feel like a fun run to do at some point...

Hmm I screwed that one in the editing department, good eye tho, didn't even notice it. You can see a valkyrie corpse at 6:00 so it was her. I did restart that one since i ended the mission with 2 valkyries and I've only built 2. You can see she is alive and well in the scene after that. Again, really good eye tho, I try to notice these kinds of things before shipping a video, but that one totally went over my head hahahah

Agreed. But since I'm playing deathless, resources aren't really my biggest issue. Once I build a unit, it has to stay alive. The sheer force of the enemy attackwaves were the real problem for me.

Could be tbh, but in my defense, it was only my 4th deathless mission so I wasn't really expereinced with cheesing that much. And I definitely didn't watch speedrun tips and tricks until I have arrived to the Titans campaign, the first 3 campaigns were pure improv on my part hahahahaha

Not sure what you mean by units, but I can give an estimate that it was about 100 reloads per campaign on average, which is definitely less than I thought it would be tbh

I don't wanna get my hopes up too much just yet. Every time somebody says a game is getting a remake my mind starts going to places like GTA trilogy My remake experience has been heavily tainted... Gonna try and see what the future holds before threading into these kinds of waters hahahah

If Retold doesn't change the campaign too much, I will try to do something else instead. I don't want to do the same challenge run twice, only differnce being graphics and a couple of tweaks. That being said, I was thinking about doing an extermination edition challenge run for Retold where I would ruin all the hard work the devs put into the game by trying to destroy every unit and every building on every level. I'd say this kind of challenge run will generally be easier than deathless apart from a couple of (mostly defense) missions, which are going to be pure pain, but I think I can make a pretty fun video out of it 😄

Hey, just wanted to ask, are you making the canon choices for Dawn of War deathless run (that is; winning factions in 1's expansions, the canon traitor in 2's expansion Chaos Rising and the slightly corrupted ending in the same expansion)?

@@honorablespartan For now I'm only doing the Dark Crusade expansion, which doesn't have any choices other than picking a faction and the one I picked were the Necrons. I can make a lot of good death and deathless puns when I'm playing with them murder machines :D

@@AmonsChallenges Thanks for the reply, if you want to extend it to the entire series from 1 to 3 (3 is definitely the weakest) it would be cool to compare the different factions to each other too. That could be an awesome tier list video when all is said and done.

If you are talking about mission 7, he tried, but I think the huge mass of walls kinda messed with its pathing so he traveled to the other part of the map, which basically took him more time than was left on the clock

​@@AmonsChallenges NO level 8 at a certain amount of time the titan will atack. I thought it was because you didn't put son of osiris resurecting the guardian because it usally happens when the guardian is almost awaken... The titans comes at you so you have to use the guardian to beat him. but with you it just sits at the base to and do nothing even after you got the guardian . Lke you said they stopped atacking at a certain point why i don't know

You know, I never even tried to get rid of pink. I always thought they have a bunch of ships and if i wanted to get rid of them I would have to build a huge navy or do a land assault. Definitely gonna keep this one in mind if I try another kind of challenge run on that level. Appreciate it!
