It really is hard to believe a motorized army could traverse that area so quickly in that time of the year. Lots of flooding potential. And Yet, Germany built SEVENTEEN Dreadnought Battleships prior to 1914. Compare this with TEN for the United States (Which had two separate coasts to protect) and France with FOUR such ships. Seventeen Dreadnought Battleships only make sense in a Fleet deliberately trying to challenge the Royal Navy.
