Hi, there. Super excited I found your vid as I am currently working on a similar project for my best girlfriend’s wedding to the man who’s stepped in to help her raise her son since he was an infant-they’re finally tying the knot, legally, so I’m looking to make them the perfect artistic keepsake to commemorate this long awaited moment! Question for you, though-what gauge wire are you using for your main focal pieces? And are you using annealed steel? I’ve mainly worked with paper wire sculptures, which use pieces of vintage paper to decorate the people & scene, so I’d like to have a good, solid base/reference for something more durable like this. And finally, (I haven’t watched the vid thru), do you use a fabric/metal liquid adhesive for the clothing, or do you actually sew the pieces to the armatures. Any assist would be Much appreciated esp since Most if these serious sculptures are coming from artists in foreign countries & the language barrier gets in the way. Thank you for your vid!
Hi! Glad to hear this :) I used thick hardwires of around 2.5 to 3mm. Type of steel is up to you base on your market's availability. You can get the feel of it once you try bending the wire and if stays stable. As for the fabric, yes I hand-sew them all. Good luck on your keepsake! :)
