What is the weight of this beautiful bike?
Kool product! do I still need this if both my batteries are same voltage? 48v Also. can I plug in 2 contollers? I have dual motors and controllers.
Thank you so much!! This video was a HUGE help to me today!
Thanks!
lovethe bike, but will it hold up to texas heat? i only weigh 170 so weight isnt an issue but it gets super hot here
It does require a motorcycle license. There's no pedals stock and the power exceeds 750w.
You may be speaking on a city/ specific state level. On a Federal level, and base of the vast majority of the USA, it 100% does not require a motorcycle license. The Javelin falls into the same category as a moped or scooter. We have been doing this for 6 years, have worked directly with the NHTSA, have gotten legitimate vins to categorize as a motor-driven cycle. This category is sub 5hp on a federal level and 2hp for many states. Pedals mean nothing to the law once you get outside 750watts. The bike immediately becomes a "motor driven cycle," up until the 5hp mark, pedals or no pedals.
Example of CT's laws (common format amongst all 50 states): www.cga.ct.gov/2020/rpt/pdf/2020-R-0257.pdf NHTSA's definition of "motor-driven cycle" www.nhtsa.gov/importing-vehicle/importation-and-certification-faqs-0 Again, you need to review your own city's laws. Our team cannot keep up with the hundreds of different cities changing their laws on a annual basis. This is why the bike ships out as 2hp with a 5hp option and a street speed limit within "motor driven cycle," guidelines of 30mph. It also includes an MCO and everything else you need to make this bike legal.
@@SparkCycleworks I appreciate the time in. A moped does require pedals, or it's a scooter. Your previous units had pedals from the factory so they could be classified as a scooter or moped depending on the specifics of the state. The Javelin is well over the 2hp or 1500w that usually marks the difference between "scooter" the sit-down kind, and motorcycles. But calling it an "e-bike" is a misnomer.
@@e-powersport The term Moped is dated and has been replaced by "motor driven cycle/ scooter." Directly from the law: “Motor scooter” usually refers to two- or three-wheeled vehicles with seats, relatively small motors, and low top speeds. It is sometimes used interchangeably with “moped” (i.e., a vehicle with both bicycle pedals and a motor). In Connecticut, these vehicles typically fall under the definition of “motor-driven cycles,” which do not need to be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) before being operated on public roads." Pedals or no pedals, there is no difference when you are outside 750 watts and under the 5hp federal limit, or depending on your state, 2hp. The Javelin is shipped out as 2hp/5hp and again, includes an MCO and everything else you need.
@@SparkCycleworks awesome, it’s still not an e-bike
Absolutely can’t wait to grab one in the future!
Fardriver is not open source???
What do you mean?
@@SparkCycleworks 1:27 "it is powered by an 40 Ah Battery that is monitored by an open source far-driver controller" that makes no sense to me. the battery should be monitored by an bms and the power conversion to the motor by the controller. And Nanjing Fardriver Controllers are closed source.
@@justan1ck Fardrivers use a completely open source phone app for both android and apple. Anyone can download the app and adjust parameters. This app is not specific to Spark and is used by numerous other manufacturers and the ebike modding community.
@@SparkCycleworks that's not what open source means
@@justan1ck how do you define open source?
been eyeing the brute since about 2 months ago. But not sure if they would ship to Hawaii tho
Beautiful !💪💪💪
Like the price point super fair, was looking at an Anthem but your price is swaying me
Welp I ordered a brute already but now I think I might just have to order a javelin too :) My only concern is that in Ohio mopeds explicitly have to have pedals… have seen people register 50cc bikes with no pedals but it’s definitely not legal; atleast in Ohio
Awesome bike and company! Great job guys!
It’s definitely growing on me. I glad to see the open source components.
I was able to test ride this when you guys came to NYC. The bike is way more impressive in person and definitely in line with what the PEV community has been asking for.
Are handle grips interchangeable? In other words can I change the color of the grips?
Love the Talking Heads Stop Making Sense reference to David Byrnes suit.
what happen to the light indicators, flaccid?
got nervous
i'm excited to see the accessories for this thing!
What's required for a triple battery install
Also a VIN yo! so good
This is super exciting!
Awesome video, “soon it will be mine”
I just need to pop on and commemorate you on the STEM program! This is such an awesome concept. I also love that you are using local vendors. Bravo!
Thank you! We're excited for these updates too!
Love this! I wish I had seen this prior to purchasing my current e-bike lol. It is a more premium price, but I do not doubt the quality is there. Definitely on my shortlist for next time!!
I'm saving up for one.
Nice; can one upgrade to a higher BMS? Also, can we change out to Michelin’s, Pirelli’s or Bridgestone’s from Spark. Glad for the center kickstand, steel reinforced dropouts & navigation; looking forward to adding this bike.
Hopefully you guys deliver to Hawaii. Been eyeing the brute more than the javelin. But both bikes are 🔥🔥🔥
Interesting. I like the idea behind it. I think it will be great for food delivery.
We’re working on a number of options focused on commercial applications!
@@SparkCycleworks My thought when I saw the Javelin is that those acrylic panels would make great light up advertisement/logo panels. Great job on both your new releases!
@@longrove5710 we love that idea. We're planning on trying some things with laser engraving them soon!
Awesome Job Guys! I love it!
When will we see the production bike?
They start shipping early July so probably then
American made!!!! 😎👍
As much as possible yes!
i can tell you already that seat will damage your hip ,,,, need more padding for us old ppl
Far from it… I just test rode it two weeks ago up in Connecticut, you can always adjust handlebar height by adding a riser. If that doesn’t work-you can adjust The suspension system. It’s all about getting the appropriate bike fit, remember you’re not peddling so there shouldn’t be much stress to your hips.
@@marsiloficino5060 sorry but your full of crap son that type of seat is living HELL looks good but noooooo
Yeap can’t wait to get mine looking forward to it. !
Love it ❤! 🎉😊
Thank you!
So well put… Great job guys… 🙌💯💪
Nice bike❤
I have the swift zip all terrain
Hey guys, thinking of getting this bike. But I’m in Nashville where no one works on E-bikes. I sold my Onyx because of this reason. How easy would it be to change a flat tire. Does the more disconnect?
That’s actually a smart way to know who won 🤣
Stupid
I hope you cleaned that shit up
Been on the hunt for a new e bike and I guess I found my choice(s)
I salute you guys for actually selling the dang frames 🙏🏾 like you said, it nit only helps people who are trying to saave money but also can be used for education
Please please please put functional rain fenders on these!
I beg of you, please put on functional fenders on both the Brute and Javelin, I live in a rainy climate.

The brute is so rugged screams bad ass
This was honestly such a fantastic walkthrough. Great visuals, great explanation. Great tips. Thanks a lot for this video man. Took a lot of my anxiety away.
Love it!!! 🤘🏼💯⚡️
