I loved that ride back in the 60’s. I think the video gives the wrong impression of what that ride feels like. I almost got sick watching it! Like the Scrambler, it doesn’t make most people motion sick because of the opposite motion of the platforms and the master pivot.

I remember riding this at the ionia freefair when I was 6 years old along with the tip top roundup zipper sizzler thunder bolt double ferris wheel gondola wheel and tilt a whirl. I rode it again at Logan square carnival when I was 11 years old and the capital city riverfest in 88. Nineteen eighty eight was the last time they had this ride along with tip top sizzler orbiter graviton crazy dance tilt a whirl and himalaya zipper and rock o plane bumpers cars spook house and super slide. Elliot amusements last had this meteor carnival ride. Ionia free fair was crown amusements. I am not surprised that w g wade shows had it at one time. The workers from wade shows told me they had this ride as well. I remember in 87 elliot amusements last had the hang ten carnival ride but rode it because I was scared of it. I hope see one at a carnival and ride one.

Wow! That's a trip down memory lane for me! I have been looking for the name of that ride for years. There used to be one at the fair in my town back in the early 60's. Riding it felt just about the same as riding the Scrambler. A very smooth ride. Thank you so much for posting that video.

I miss the one Darien Lake had, A mack Calypso that got removed at the end of the 1999 season.

I remember riding an old version of this in the 1970's at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit. It seemed like the one i rode went faster and higher up on a slant, but then again I was about 14 years old at the time. The one in Detroit was pretty old and worn out. I remember thinking the chairs seemed like they could easily come loose from the floor as it turned around. We felt like it was going to throw us off the ride as it swung around....I'm kinda thinking they may have had two of these at once at the State Fair..... I'm not 100% sure who had the fair contract back then, but it could have been WG Wade Shows, which I believe was based in Michigan at the time, but now are located in Florida.

I remember this ride back in the mid 60s in Las Vegas at our local seasonal carnival. It was called the Meteor. The video of this one looks tame in comparison, however. I recall that the discs went to quite an extreme angle when it tilted. I kept waiting to see if the shown ride would begin to tilt more but it didn't. Anyone else have memories of this? Oh yeah, and it seemed as if each disc was going to collide with the other. Fun days, fun mems!

1:43 When I was on the ride, I didn't pay attention to that scene, and I got a shock because I realised there was a zombie animatronic walking towards me. You can't see very clearly in the video but it is walking towards the guests which is really scary because it gets really close to you.

I love it when the cars start to spin and suddenly it feels like you're flying across the disc towards the edge! It gives you a bit of a thrill, and you're like hanging on going "Whooooaaaaa...!!!" Too fun!!!
