Why would a woman wear black at a joyous occasion like this?
Because many of these women only wear black, because it's not a color that screams look at me. I personally own some other colors , but in soft shades. I wore dark brown to my last 2 sons weddings and my granddaughter's wedding. In Israel the secular nickname for Charedi is penguin. Once a man turns 13 he basically never wears any other color.
