Gotta say, being a Griselda fan, Specifically a big Westside Gunn fan, I was disappointed with this album when it first came out. It really took time to grow on me, minus tracks like 1989 and Chloe…I ended up looking at it like Gunn just experimenting with different sounds and styles. Griselda is known for a certain type of sound and as an artist, I can understand the need or want to wanna experiment with new styles and pathways. Ima always want that grimy shit from Gunn. But I can also appreciate him getting outta his bag and trying something new. Some great tracks on the album for sure.

It's ultra underrated just how genius the entire concept of the song No.1 Heaband is. Everyone is always talking about who the GOAT is, but by using the system unique to Afro Samurai, Lupe is basically saying he's so on top that you have to be the GOAT just to be ALLOWED to challenge him. Meanwhile, anyone can try to be the GOAT.

Bro you should check out a dude from the UK called Juga-Naut, check out his album Time and Place, I believe it's an album he was making over a 10 year period amongst other fire projects he's been dropping, but it's completely self produced mix and mastered and his rhyming and wordplay is crazy good. I think you'll like his music a lot bro. I am a huge fan of Ransom and Nicholas craven as a team, all their releases have been incredible.

At 11:37 where you talk about rhyme schemes, does a 2 syllable rhyme (or 3 or 4 etc.) refer to the syllables strictly at the end of the bar? Or does this number also account for internal rhymes? Appreciate the breakdowns bro.

I actually really loved May Store, maybe my favorite on the album after Dr. Birds and Chef Dreds. Bang was originally just Conway and Eminem I think, and was gonna be on gdmm along with City on the Map but then I'm guessing westside made the call to put them on wwcd. I actually really enjoy Bang remix (big eminem fan) but I get how some people might not be the biggest fan of that eminem verse given some of his lyrics. Benny's sports scheme in his verse was amazing to me, and Conway's verse is dope, really grimy. Love the "the hammer by my pelvis in my helmut lang, the shell's will bang, make everything out of your helmet hang" section. Did you ever listen to the unreleased version in which Eminem was dissing Joe Budden? I felt like that was mixed better and had harder punchlines

This is one of my absolute favorites. I refer "Griselda type production" instantly with these DR BIRDS, City On The Map type keys.

Griselda crew can deliver their style but I always find their content to be very one dimensional and song structure is weak. But Conway is the closest when it comes to delivering variety in a song and the most solid mixtapes.

This album can’t touch griselda ghost or hall & nash, but it still makes you realize how much they’ve fallen off in the last couple years
