My first guitar was a new 1967 Norma. I was 7 years old and my dad bought it for me. And being an electrical engineer my dad built my first amp too. I played Twinkle Twinkle little star on it for 1st grade show and tell day.

Here is a song I prompted GPT to write lyrics in the style of Matchbox 20. I cut it up into verse and chorus and bridge and I stuck some simple chords on it just to see how it feels. It's not bad and has the bones of a song that you could/would/should change to suit your own style. For people learning to write songs it could be a handy little tool. Not that the kids want to write songs like this anymore. Another issue with AI is if you try something and then want to expand on it, if you try to put it back into AI it wont expand, it will come up with something completely different but in the same vein. Because AI skims the internet each time and doesn't really look at the original piece. This is why when you were putting the prompts in, it was giving you something the same because it just skimmed the internet and that is what it found. It couldn't take the original and expand on it because it doesn't know how to think like a person. It can't create so much as it just looks for something that already exists and at best jumbles up some of what it has found.

Isn't that the joke? Grandparents leave the plastic on the furniture to keep it looking new but never get the benefit of the nice cushions themselves? Just rip the plastic off. It's $20 for a new pick guard if you really need it. I literally just went and bought a 2008 MIM for $500AUD yesterday from a second hand store. Someone had stuck a Seymore Duncan Humbucker in the bridge I guess they want that humbucker sound. But the neck pickup is the same... I think, it has the cover on it so I am going to tear it down and replace strings adjust height etc and need to squirt some contact cleaner in the back of the volume pot so I will check the neck pickup then. It sounds like a tele pick up now before I take it apart so hopefully it is. I actually got the Tele and a Boss MT2 pedal for $600 so I think the guitar is a bargain and looking at the prices of the Boss that is a good price as well. Keep up the good work.

MIM Fender, imho, is the cheapest pro grade guitar out there. What I mean by that, a musician can take a MIM Fender into a studio or on a stage in professional context and no one bats an eye. Imagine a guest guitarist comes out on stage with The Stones. If they are standing next to Keef playing a Mexican Strat or Tele, they will look and sound right at home. In theory, you could go out there with a cheap beat up Squier or a pink Hello Kitty guitar with glitter... But in either case it would be noticed 'look, that guy is playing a cheap Squier...' it might even be cool. But it would be remarkable. A MIM Fender is utterly unremarkable in this context. The cheapest pro grade workhorse guitar is a cheap MIM Fender. They are also the perfect hottod platform. So a good deal on used Mexi? Is a very good deal indeed.

Funny you didn't mention adding the pickguard or changing the pickups. Ooops, never mind. Just saw your other video. just covers on the pickups.

Pickup covers produce a muddier, less punchy sound in my experience than without covers

I was just gifted one yesterday. It’s trans blue and signed by Joe Bonamassa as a PBS auction item. I have several guitars from a vintage Tele, a Jimmie Vaughan Strat, a 50 year old D-28 bought new, a few Ibanez and a ‘54 reissue Custom Shop Les Paul. I agree with everything you said about the Epi. Surprisingly well finished, sounds very good out of the box and today I’m setting it up to my liking. The only gripe is the Laurel fretboard which is almost Maple white. I’ll be staining that along with polishing the frets. I like what you did with the pickup covers but might convert to a P90 in the neck position, my favorite pickup. Tuners might get changed out, maybe. It’s a $230 guitar after all. The JB sig might rub off over time so I’m not worried about losing “collector value.” I work for PBS stations and it’s crazy, but one station was offering my same guitar with Joe’s sig for $2,500! Sure hope no one fell for that!

I think that series of Tele's were the best ! From 2009- 2017 they just kept upgrading them until oila ! the ultimate, the ceramic pick ups in those are superb. I own 2 of them and have had others, they are great, if you can find one. Most guys who know guitars don't sell em😉Player series not as good !

Fill the broken inlay with backing soda and cyanoacrylate glue. Sprinkle in soda, drop on glue. Slight fine paper sand drop of oil to finish. Done in 5 minutes.

Good news is it has a bolt on neck, I bet you could put a full scale neck on it and solve both problems, that is what I personally would do. Plus I don’t care for painted necks. Hope it all works out for you!

This is one of the funniest vids I've seen in a while. Thanks for uploading this! [EDIT] Kinda sounds like it just needs to be intonated. No matter what, a short scale guitar's tuning is going to be more affected by your picking power and your left hand pressure. Once it's intonated, use a light hand and it should be fine. You can also consider that Taylor makes the GS mini which is kinda along the same lines as this guitar but an acoustic. This would make a nice little travel guitar. Worst case, if you end up hating it consider donating it to a kid that wants to learn to play.

Those are a pretty good mini guitar except they have a really crappy plastic nut. And the bridges are known for having a sharp edge. Change the nut for a graphtec and they work great. Fill the inlay hole with pearl enamel nail polish. You might need to build it up with a couple applications but you might even find a close Color match.
