the fishing rods threw me for a loop as well -- i had to bait fishing rods before i could use them for hunter missions. finally, after years of watching from afar, i got a gaming PC and am working through a desolation run of Horizon. there's a *lot* going on, heckuva learning curve, so i ended up starting this playlist over from the beginning. still don't understand so much about how to build my empire, but it's been fun to learn :)

Hey, great video. I also wanted to comment on an idea for future videos: each version of Hz comes with a very large patch notes. A good video could be to read and explain the most important parts of the news. I don't know if you already did something like this for 1.9.4

You should look into the Tale of Two Wastelands mod guide, it combines Fallout 3 and New Vegas into a single game, starting with the Fallout 3 story

Loving this play through. All of the different systems involved in Horizon truly make this Fallout 4.5. The depth is massive. I chuckled at the needing just a few ranks part you needed for different skills because it is so well and naturally gated off by design. A player can't really cheese their way to anything in particular. The start of Horizon is brutal. My first attempt my shotgun build character was starving to death. Now I have a better understanding, but there's so much interplay with these deeper systems it's really cool to experience for myself and watch you go through.

The first time i heard a super mutant say, " Gone. Spineless human! ", I misheard it as " Gawd, spineless human! ". And so ever since I hear the phrase as coming from a Napoleon Dynamite Super Mutant.

I love how outraged he was by the random orc in his home - like he hasn't been a random orc in other peoples' homes hundreds of times before

It's a good thing you found that back exit out of Fort Hagen, the Prydwen doesn't show up at all unless you leave Fort Hargen through that exact exit. I found that out the hard way one play through and had to go all the way back just to exit through that exit to get them to show up.
