Can someone please explain and provide a math formula for how long it takes to hit its target depending on distance?
Back in 1971 at Ft Benning (mortar platoon officer course) we a a firing table book at had time to target depending on the setting of the tube charge and distance to target.
i gooogled it, i have studied it but my dumb ass forgotten everything see Equation of path of projectile motion y = (tan θ0)x - gx2/2(v0cosθ0)2 here theta is the angle of round being fired, or the angle of mortar

They do, at least kind of. Howitzers are the closest thing I can think of to answer your question. They have much greater range and power.
Most modern infantry battalions have a platoon of 6-8-9+ mortars (81/82mm) the amount of firepower that a mortar platoon can provide firing at maximum rate of fire is a lot more than many people imagine. The smaller 60mm and the large 107/120mm are also impressive and important weapons for the infantry.

If the mortar is set up, one person can do everything. It takes longer but that person can do everything if they have to.
