Preserved Snowflake Art!
Each snow crystal is captured by hand! When snow begins to fall, we setup and watch. Temperatures must be freezing for snowflakes to begin forming dendrites! Collection is a race against time! Although I keep my art studio freezing; Light, movement or accidently breathing in the wrong direction can damage the crystal before the process can begin. As any artist I find my paint brush is best extension of my fingers to move and manipulate.
Our favorite snowflakes are then transferred onto microscope slides for the preservation and curing process to begin. Our Method is based off a basic polymerization, using chemical reaction to change the molecules from liquid to solid in essence.
I then take these already beautiful works of nature and create jewelry or displays!
Currently I am working on an immersive experience that will feature thousands of snowflakes. The Snow Light Observatory!

It’s very delicate and beautiful! But it can’t be a real snowflake because it would have melted nearly instantly. Same with resin. It would heat it up to charm with a water drop. Still very cute!
This process is all thanks to brilliant chemist Tryggvi Emilsson. He captured the first snowflake in 1979 using superglue! The small molecules in superglue are called cyanoacrylate monomers that penetrate and interlock with the microscopic forms of anything they touch. The glue hardens when the monomers link together, or polymerize, head-to-tail into long chains called polymers. This process is triggered by any minute trace of water or water vapor.

@@gamer_johnvideos7062don’t force religion please 😊❤
You are amazing! Thanks for sharing your beautiful catch! One day I hope to learn to catch one!
You are awesome and I’m so glad I found this channel! Today is my first day on my snowflake journey! I will get one or five hundred!
I swear i found a snowflake
I love this one!
❄️
These are so beautiful!! I can only imagine how difficult it is to work with snowflakes! Much dedication and patience are needed.
That's so cool! How do you keep the snowflakes from melting as the resin cures?
You don't. It's fake as a 3dollar bill. That's why the process isn't shown. The weight of the resin itself would smash the flake
@@goldknox9629it might be fake but I think there’s a plausible way it could be done. Cyanoacrylate glues stay pretty nonviscous when cold and can cure instantly with a hardener. Then encase that in resin.
@@goldknox9629 pity tho, the concept is cool
That's awesome
Those are called dendrites!
BS
Invented in the 70s. . Plenty of research and info available. . Give it a google.💛
@@ArtistryExplorationit's definitely BS but it's a nice necklace
@@justdoinmythingi’m skeptical as all hell but i do know this is possible if you have a certain polymer coating the ice crystals before they melt. science is crazy!
@@justdoinmything google is free. . Science and history are rad.💛💛
That's so cool!
This is looks so cool and magic! Please answer, what do you use to preserve snowflake? Is it a super glue, or a epoxy? And maybe you can tell me the brand?
What do you do to get them in the resin? Do you cut the slides to shape or do you peel them off after they have cured?
Absolutely beautiful. What is the width is this pendant?
Thank you! 20mm about an inch💛💛
Hello your work is amazing❤. I just whant to ask you how you cut the glass for make that beautyful pandantiv? It didn't break? Thank's😊
oh maw gawddd
So you can break the glass to get the snowflake 😮? Wouldn't the glue prevent you from separating it? Anyhow, it must be exhausting to do that enough time to get to your collection. But if I had the time and mean, I would gladly do it too 😊.
Hello where can I buy the things needed in doing that ❤
This is so cool!!
I would make a lot of money by transforming them into expensive jewelry if I were you.
Amazing ❤
Yeah totally real 🤦♂️
Google is rad . . And free. .
Cmon , blow this up ❤
I hope you've read Snowflake Bently
I am a huge fan of Wilson Bentley!! 💛💛💛💛
We just like snowflakes. Everybody is different and beautiful.
❤I want one!
Real... you could literally see the clear circle
The snowflake is preserved before setting on microscope slides. . Then harvest from them glass magnified and set. . Science is pretty neat. . Icelandic scientist came up with the process late 70s. . . Then a Japanese physicist grew one on a rabbit hair. . Knowledge is power friend.
I show the whole process in my videos. . I’m guessing you didn’t check those out either. . .
I just love your work And I had the honor of actually watching you make something😂 And show me the process.❤
Wow! So tiny but beautiful
It’s so incredible how intricate for size!!!
Thatbis so cool bro❤
Thank you so much for checking it out! The process and history is truly remarkable.💛💛
Woww
Nature is absolutely incredible!!
A snowflake is smaller than that
These are glass magnified from the original specimen. . So glad you are detail oriented.💛
Bro it would be melted by now like how gullible are you
You obviously have no idea about science and polymerization. . Thanks tho.💛
That is the fakest thing in the whole world
Science is awesome friend. .google is wild!💛
Those are stunning!❤
No way-
Absolutely. . Way
@@ArtistryExploration HOW- (Btw this isn’t hate I’m just shocked-)
Bro stop making videos now
Stop watching my videos. . .
It’s so fascinating how people are able to preserve and continue to hold on to such beautiful specimens. I’ve never seen anything like this. Striking nonetheless! 💜
It is such a beautiful art!!!!! I am constantly captivated by the designs.
It's not a real snowflake
Google it my friend. . Absolutely is.💛
A simple Google isn't enough for me. I need actual sites and names of the ones how discovered that you could preserve a snowflake. one of the most fragile things on earth. cuz I want to meet them.
@@cody5425 I have all that info in the bio on my page. Thanks!💛
Nevermind I found it and .Jesus Christ we rilly doing everything with science . And it's honestly a cool process and as someone who can do this at a actual lab I'm going to
@@cody5425 I’ve been doing it for several years. . No lab. . It’s a beautiful art!! Happy hunting!!💛
Ooo
Thank you!!

That’s not real… it doesn’t work that way
Google is gold friend!💛 You can also check out our page. It is real chemical reaction polymerization. . Science is cool!
@@ArtistryExploration a natural snowflake will just melt. that may be a real snowflake, but it definitely ain't a natural one.
What ever you need to tell yourself friend. .
May I ask how?
Chemical reaction! Polymerization I have several videos detailing the process.💛💛
@@ArtistryExploration thanks for explaining, I didn't see the vids lol
Pretty snowflake 😍
Thank you!!!
Oh wow that’s beautiful
❤❤❤
Just be looking like pieces of paper ngl
You can check out the entire process on our page. It’s a chemical reaction process called polymerization. .
impossible
How is that possible 🤔?!
How come it didn't melt?
