Working with AverageX and Summarize to create averages in DAX
In this video Mitchell takes a look at some of the challenges that exist when working with averages and then how you can use a combination of DAX functions to work around those challenges. With Summarize and AverageX you can easilY create the averages you want.
We also take a look at modifying the filter context to include the last 3 months of data with the CALCULATE function and DATESINPERIOD! Enjoy the video!

Excellent examples and explanations. But I have a problem working with Matrix visualisation and using 3-4 level grouping + calculating average values. At the row level everything is fine, but in the final totals and subtotals depending on the level of expanding madness happens. Examples with more complex situations that happen in a real environment would be great.

I have been working in Power Query via Excel, and was struggling to find the "Add Tables from Example" when returning webdata. Much to like, but why does every Logic App presenter think they have to avoid the 80% use case -- uploading a blob to Azure Storage and triggering an ADF pipeline to put the data into Azure SQL? I seriously could not care less about all these specialty corner cases -- tweets, record-level SQL events, things that happen out on the Great Wild Web... it's all just distraction me. 🙂

Hello Mitchell, I hope you are doing great. By the way, I love your courses and how you explain the concepts with simple terms. With that being said, I am just trying to wrap my head how these Filter functions( ALL, ALLSELECTED & ALLEXCEPT) works. From my general, conceptual understanding, I think it mainly used to control and limit "How" & "What" user can filter, when using external filters such as "SLICERS" & "TIMELINE". Please!!!, feel free to correct me if my conceptual understanding is inaccurate. Thank you.
