over a "billion" what? watermelons? Seriously, even if this was flawless sapphire, and I've held in my paws one such sapphire the size of a goose's egg, kept in a damn big vault, dark sea green with a slight yellow on one side; the original owner dead some 52 years ago (but alive 52 years ago when he handed it to me as a kid) , no idea what happened to it as there were no living relatives- maybe still inside that safe LOL?? Never forgot it. Your star sapphire is very very cool but a billion dollars??? I reckon if it was never polished and kept as the original crystal you'd get a lot from a collector but now just a polished stone.

Any object is only worth whatever someone is actually willing to spend to purchase it. It is very unlikely that anyone will spend anywhere near a billion dollars to purchase this stone, and until it is actually purchased any valuation is pure speculation.
