PP lived in Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome, Copenhagen and Nykøbing, among other places. During a long stay in Italy he was involved in twelve film projects and embodied "Death" in a play. He then traveled to Denmark and lived in Copenhagen's Vesterbro district. He published his first book in the early 1990s. Brighton Verlag near Frankfurt has been publishing his works since 2011. His publications include novels, collections of poetry, short stories, children's books, art and photo books and a travel guide. His best-known titles to date are the satirical novel Cuckoo's Egg Syndrome and the psychological thriller W-E-L-T. In addition to literary writing, he works as a translator and devotes himself to the design of book covers, photography and fine arts. His paintings and works of photographic art are exhibited at home and abroad. In 2017, Peter opened his own art gallery in Nykøbing's Latin Quarter.
Galleri Peter Pitsch - 7th anniversary!
In the summer of 2017, I opened the art gallery in Nykøbing's oldest shopping street, Store Kirkestræde. The support from guests, friends and colleagues was fantastic right from the opening day, and the good mood continues to this day.
I was born in Herford, Germany. I temporarily lived in West Berlin before the fall of the wall, followed by 15 months in Amsterdam. After that I went on to Rome and during the next five years I worked as an actor while writing and drawing on the side. One day I met a Danish girl from Næstved, and we spent the next eight months together in Italy. Finally we decided to move to Copenhagen. While we lived in the Vesterbro district, I published my first books. Back then we bought a small summer house in Gedesby, Southdenmark, that needed a loving hand; and that was the beginning of our love for the islands of Lolland and Falster. We enjoyed the peace and the long walks on the beach. Later we moved to Nykøbing, where we bought an old house, which we completely renovated over several months. At the same time, I had my first art exhibitions in galleries or art associations' premises. After the first successes, the idea of opening a gallery myself gradually arose. In 2017 I finally found a suitable store in the heart of Nykøbing. For the past three years, I have run the gallery together with my wife, Jette Pedersen, who is educated as a fashion designer at Margrethe School in Copenhagen. Her brushstrokes are elegant, fluent and lively. We are happy to have come to Nykøbing Falster. The seven years have passed quickly and we thank everyone who has contributed, customers as well as art associations and the local community! There is hardly a better place than our little Latin quarter.

@@Bakiba-pg2wd Well, Jette is my first love, and that´s why I moved to Denmark. In Copenhagen I started a new life and began to write books. What started with illustrations and cover design developed into my current career as a painter.

Pitschs Lyrik ist tiefgründig und faszinierend. Jeden Tag frühmorgens, noch bevor mein harter Arbeitstag begann, habe ich eines seiner Gedichte aus dem Band „Ehe ich’s vergesse“ gelesen. Pitsch hat es geschafft, mich völlig aus dem tristen Alltag zu reißen und in seine Welt der Lyrik zu entführen. Entgegen des fortwährenden und sich beschleunigenden Trends in meinen Leben, wurden wenige Minuten plötzlich zu Stunden. Obwohl sich Pitschs Welt oftmals viel trister und schmerzlicher als meine Realität darstellt, half sie mir, Dinge aus meinem Leben aus einem völlig anderen Blickwinkel zu betrachten und meinen Alltag für mich neu bewerten zu können. Ich glaube, nicht nur all seine Botschaften, die er zu vermitteln versucht, verstanden zu haben, vielmehr wurden diese Botschaften auf eine schier seltsame Art und Weise zu den meinigen. Dabei entstand eine zwiespältige Situation. Während ich einerseits hoffte, der Situation baldmöglichst entfliehen zu können, verstärkte sich der Wunsch, viel mehr von diesen Botschaften in mich aufzusaugen und nicht so schnell in meinen Alltag zurückkehren zu müssen. Über die sprachliche Qualität vermag ich nicht viel zu sagen, da ich noch vom alten Schlag bin und moderne Lyrik mir bislang fremd war - aber das war mir in jenem Augenblick des Hochgenusses auch völlig egal. Jedes Mal wenn die Gegenwart sich aufdrängte und ich realisierte, dass ich los muss, dass die Arbeit rief, verblieb ein Stück Trauer, Freude und Melancholie. Und ja, ich habe inzwischen einen Liebling aus dieser Sammlung, der sich in mein Gehirn gebrannt hat und den ich vermutlich nie wieder vergessen werde. Natürlich kann ich meinen Liebling hier nicht verraten. Denn Gedichte sind individuell. Jedes einzelne davon. Sie haben ein Eigenleben. Und nicht jedes davon passt auch zu jedermann.
