You got the sensor readings because you called the function "_startReading()" and you could actually have passed a reference to the function to the "onPressed" property of the elevated button like this "onPressed: _startReading"

Error: Could not find the correct Provider<List<Employee>> above this Home Widget This happens because you used a `BuildContext` that does not include the provider of your choice. There are a few common scenarios: If you met this error, check your provider's initialData property. Set the initial data as null then it will be solved.

This was BY FAR the best explanation of anything Flutter that I have ever viewed. And, even 2 years later, after the null-safe law has been laid down, will it still work "as written?" Now that's another question that I am going to have to answer for myself by writing my own demo project using these concepts. PS: "set title" instead of "changeTitle" really would have been a better choice. I was shouting at you through my screen when you wrote those functions. 🙂

Just wanted to say thank you for your provider series. It has been a great resource for me to go through the examples you provide and you explain each step along the way which is brilliant. It's been a few years now but this is as good a tutorial as I have found on the provider package and its various incarnations. besides the null safety now - this is still wholly applicable. thank you.
