The new Tongtai A-1500 Gang Type CNC turning center cast from Meehanite iron. Precision linear ways and direct coupled servo motors provide an ultra rigid and compact structure resulting in super accurate positioning. To ensure precision and thermal stability the headstock, tailstock, turret and saddle are all mounted on a rigid one piece 60 degree slant bed. The precision spindle structure is mounted using precision double row roller bearings in conjunction with angular contact ball bearings for high rigidity and accuracy. The spindle quill inner and outer linings are precision ground for fit with the spindle, thus ensuring extreme concentricity and accuracy. The 6,000 or optional 4,500 RPM spindle is driven by a 15HP high torque motor which provides plenty of power. A large 20” x 8.5” gang platen, capable of holding 2 - 5 tools (depending on the workpiece) provides near zero tool change times. A rear exit chip conveyor and a 6” diameter 3 jaw hydraulic chuck are provided as standard.
