I pushed through this project in 2 months, i didn't turn out as I envisioned. But that's fine. It was a huge success anyway. It’s all for figuring out how to build a million dollar business.

    I know exactly how you feel brother. I'm in my 3rd week after launch and things are not as i expected, made $5 so far. i've also quit my job 3 month ago and have around 6 month run away. Difference is i'm solo and built a marketplace, which is massive work, and gotta recruit both sides. dollars are going every day for ads. what do you suggest bro?

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed 2 dny

    You rock! Thank you for sharing the lows (and not only the highs) and reflecting on it all as you experience it. I've faced so many of the same struggles. Spent 2 years building a product nobody wanted - thankfully as a side-project. Quit my job to focus on entrepreneurship but still haven't figured out the audience/buyer + marketing side down at all. Been doing freelance consulting work to make money but of course it ends up competing for time with the app building haha. Recently spent 2 months building an app I thought would take me a week - now it's done and I'm hesitating on doing outreach for no good reason at all. I need to figure out how to get over that hump of reaching out to people like you mentioned. Let me know if you have any tips on that! Thanks again for the great video and congrats on your launch!

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed 6 dny

      Ah thanks man, sounds like you know the struggles... Do you know which kind of people you can reach out to? As in, what to type into the search bar on LinkedIn for example? For it it helped a lot that i got a mate with the project who pushed me to do the things i didn't like. Signed up for the LinkedIn premium trial which allows you to do infinite texts with the connection request, and then started contacting people. The first 5 were hard, then it got easier, and after 50 it was the most normal thing on earth. Or do you perhaps know people who know people? Such contacts can also make it easier for starting... Also when you realize that there's no way around doing it, it gets easier to get over that initial barrier, which i know too well too! What's your app?

    shiiit dude. after 2 yrs of grinding after quitting my job, multiple burnouts, i have also not made $1 online. i think all the time about how the easiest money is to just work a job. but it’s like you said, each failure is just another step towards success

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed 7 dny

      Oh it definitely is.. Sometimes thinking back to those times lol. But man you also have quite the journey behind you!! Someone commented on one of the early videos, i should stop building and go read "Million Dollar Weekend". Of course i didn't stop. But reading the book now. And it's pretty good (although simplistic but most of these are). One of the main ideas, to start with customers, not with the product. That's I think the biggest mistake that happened here, not sure how this is for you. But in the book he suggests to first put all time you have into getting a few presales for your product, before you actually build it out. If it happens - good, validated, continue. If not, try with new ideas and that validation until it happens. It's not the only way, but I think it's a much better way than ending up with no clear market and communication channels...

    I think you should spend some time identifying/clarifying/challenging the problem you're trying to solve and solution you're providing? Cuz what use-case does the app have? what use-case is the app not intended to solve? Who's problem and what problem does it solve? Is it only for syncing the audio? and fusing the videos together? Is it for serious use? Who would spend days planning a video and days shooting it and upload to a chat to edit it? Don't get me wrong. The documentation of the journey is amazing. But I want to see you win as well

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed 8 dny

      Yes you are on point. The tool is basically a UI wrapper for FFmpeg, which is a universal command line tool for de- and encoding media files. So you can do a million things with it, compressing, converting file formats, editing video files, etc etc. But when positioned as such a universal swiss army knife tool, it's very generic and hard to define a target market for it. I use it every day, because it's very helpful. But I agree, it's not very well communicated at the moment. But through fully experiencing these problems I learned so much. Next project idea is in the pipeline, and there i will start with first getting customers, and then building. Which is the right way around! And win will happen, just takes a bit of time ;)

    isn't videofyles the opposite of GUI...instead of commands we gotta write verbose text. Instead of asking again and again wasting time doing things that need just a click, one can do it by learning, say, from 30min tutorial of some basic video editor like clipchamp.

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed 28 dny

      Just because you gotta write text into a chat it doesn't mean it's not a GUI. Using natural language to interact with software is just a different way than single-purpose UI controls like buttons and menus... And both ways have their pros and cons.

    Hi, interesting video. I am new to the channel so I am sorry if I am asking you to repeat your self with this question. I am wondering why not have web based tool? If I understand correctly you have chat based video editor? so select clips, tell it what I want, chat with it to get it fine-tuned and it gives me a video? Sounds to me like validating web based tool might be a thing, pair it with hosting and publish to platform tools and you could have a winner. Simplify editing, storage and publishing even on weak devices and enable whole new segment of creators? I might be wrong tho.

    • @LudwigSonneck
      @LudwigSonneck Pƙed měsĂcem

      no worries, not repeating with this! It's not web based because of the file processing. Because then one would have to upload the file to the web before they can be processed, and now it happens on the users computer. But your points are super valid, I have in fact build a web-based video editor before this tool here (flowtapes.com, which I also use for these CZcams videos). But I needed this tool here myself because raw videos from a camera can easily be 10-20GB and that's just too large to handle online. So i'd compress them first with VIdeofyles and can then edit in Flowtapes easily.

    I’m an early adopter in general. testimonials all feel fake, in general I don’t read or trust them. Just saying that so you don’t spend too much time on something that might not get you the target audience. That said, I myself might be an outlier 😅 Thanks for the video appreciate it a lot.

      Thanks for the input Morten! One way to improve this bad reputation is for example to link them to the actual people's social media (e.g. X) account, so people see that person is real and could even ask them about their experience. Or what I also see often is that people put reviews as testimonial on their landing page (e.g. from ProductHunt or Trustpilot)

      I totally agree with you Morten! All these statups (solo-startups as well) have so many testimonials even before the product launch. If you do some digging you realize most of the "customers" are just their friends. I trust my own judgement more than a star-studded testimonial. A free trial is 100X better than 100 5-star ratings.

    have you had someone who isn't experienced in video editing (and the lingo with it) and feed it sloppy commands to see how it responds?

      Yes but it was rather simple tasks (like compressing), where it's just one processing step. So this exact type of using it needs much more, to uncover potential hiccups there... In the end it comes down to the prompt, that I for example have VIdeofyles ask for more clarification if it cannot reliably derive the command from the user's input

    Brother, I'm commenting just to help u get more traction. This is such needed content. Nowadays everyone is like "make 10k a month easily with this and that ". this is the real world, things don't always go well, there is a lot of effort and struggle. I've literally watched only a minute of the video, and I can relate to the pain in your voice, I am going to a very similar phase. Thank you for sharing the dark side.

      Thanks man! "this is the real world" exactly this. I also felt like it's underrepresented on the internet, people just talking about the struggle and the real life behind building a business... What are you working on?

      Hey, right now no budget to outsource it.. Doing it automated right now in my own software, at least that is really quick ;)

    I've been doing my first serious cold outreach 'campaign' on LinkedIn over the last few weeks as well. Surprisingly positive results so far. 👍 Keep up the good work.
