The green bridge will have a cafe/restaurant on that bit in the middle. I'm not sure Streets Beach would work as well in London, at least until climate change gives you some warmer weather like we have here. The treasury is now a casino, ironically.

I would have thought that most people would have linked the city to mustard, chocolate and StartRite shoes as a first answer. Perhaps followed by insurance ( Norwich Union ) and finance. I do know that slaving ships vittaled and sailed out of King's Lynn and that a family called Dalling from that area had a plantation called Donnington Castle in Jamaica. There may be something more of interest in St Peters Mancroft Church where three rescued slave boys were christened. Norwich upper and middle classes were mostly puritan with a strong work ethic. Pioneers in machinery (Norwich Museum) and welcomed skilled working refugees from religious intolerance ( Strangers Hall )

Oh ! Clever Lisa ! Immediately picked out three iconic buildings, The Forum, City Hall and The Guildhall. Really spot on guesses of age and style. These three are part of the NORWICH 12. .. . A heritage group of iconic buildings. They are showcased as internationally important representation of English urban and cultural life over the last 1000 years. Thank you for the walk around 👍 You have remarked a few times that lots of the buildings are made of stone. You are quite right and the stones are flint. There is no suitable stone for building available locally but as the farmers say when ploughing, " the fields grow flint " Bricks were made locally and most villages had a kiln, but flint was cheaper and farmers would be happy for someone to take them away. The stone for Norwich Cathedral was imported from France. Norwich Castle is flint but got a Victorian make over. With the exception of St Benedicts most of of flint buildings survived the terrible beating that Norwich took in the 'Baedecker Raids' in 1942. Thanks again for your posting 👍👌
