Thank you thank you thank you!!! I had to leave a comment. My husband and I are having to share my car while his is in the shop. All the swapping the fob back-and-forth has been a nuisance. I knew I had a second one in a drawer. After putting in a new battery it still did not work. I adjusted the prongs as you suggested and BINGO it’s working. Thank you again! God bless you!

My prongs are broken Do you know if I can buy a new of what ever it is called, I open it up and move the prongs and it is keeping me going but one of the prongs broke off. Has anyone bought replacement prongs? or substitute?

How do you fix the button that holds the key in when it does not lock the key in the case?

My key fob opens my car doors, but my car won’t read the key fob to start the car anymore. I can just unlock and open doors. Is my key fob messed up or did it the program itself?

Oh my god. I bought a 2009 Altima a few months ago off marketplace. Owner only had one key. Well none of the buttons worked which I didn’t complain about because I got it for a good price, just have to manually lock and unlock which could be annoying. Car would start and run fine with the key in the slot but the lock/unlock buttons never worked. Low and behold I find this video, so first I open my key and what do you know, my battery was upside down!! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ girl you just saved me a HELL of a lot of stress and headache thinking I had to go to the Nissan dealer for a new key. I wish I could give this video multiple thumbs up you’re a life saver, or maybe I’m just dumb!! Haha

Sorry but its basic commonsense info you are giving. You are not giving info that someone would not know if they had basic common sense. All the people who commented below must not have basic common sense.

Is better with locksmith if you have trouble with key fob.

Washed my key fob for my Infiniti and now it has a short going on inside. I have 2 other fobs (not programed) that I am going to try and get going. After doing a lot of research I was able to find a programmer online for my car for $100.00 roughly. Every place I called said they would charge right around 80 to 120 per fob. If you are doing more than one fob and plan on keeping the vehicle forever I recommend doing the programmer option. Hope everyone has a great day.

Thank you after going through so many videos that just had me frustrated. Came upon this. Car battery died at the job. Had to get a boost from roadside assistance. Then no key I'd went home to see if I had a fob battery. Had to leave car running in driveway. Went bought a new car battery. Changed out key fob battery. Then car kept saying no key I'd. 2 days of watching videos unplugged battery in car. Nothing car still wouldn't recognize key fob. Was just going to go to dealer. Came upon this video did what you said closed it up. Hit panic button car started going off in garage. Door locks started working. Car recognized fob. Finally someone who does not run their mouth and know what they are doing. 🙂

I will be doing this. My buttons wouldn’t work but the car did unlock when I got near it.
