      @@SidingWindowsWizardsLLC I don't believe it is correct that Infinity uses a wood interior material. From reading their company information (and other CZcams videos), Infinity by Marvin has a fiberglass exterior and a choice of two interior materials, those being fiberglass or "EverWood." Appreciate the overview/Comparison. One thing I would have liked you to talk about when it came to aesthetics would be the welds on the windows. I also noticed that you have an old Endure Sample as the Sash Stops are no longer at the top and are in the middle so they are hidden when the windows are closed and the jamb liner is all you see. Another thing I would mention is the type of Vinyl both windows are using, are they both Virgin Vinyl? Is the meeting rail reinforcement important and if so, what kind of material? What color options can you get on both windows? What grid options can you get? Warranties are important as well so talking about both I think would be a good thing HOWEVER a warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind them so probably be a nice thing to talk about are the companies and your opinion on which as great customer service for that instance when you do have to use the warranty. Thanks for your advice. As a result, I have narrowed down my choice to the ProVia Endure and the Okna Eco Pro 600. However, it seems that the Okna 600 warranty is quite a bit better than the ProVia Endure. The Okna offers a buyer's lifetime plus transferable to 1 subsequent owner warranty on the glass, vinyl and hardware. Whereas the Endure offers only a buyer's lifetime warranty on glass and hardware (non transferable). So if the original buyer of a ProVia Endure get's "hit/killed by a beer truck" the day after installation, then there is no longer any warranty on glass and hardware of the ProVia Endure windows. This doesn't seem to show much confidence in the Endure's window's quality versus the Okna 600. I'd like for there to be a window warranty for my spouse, children and/or any subsequent buyer. What are your thoughts on warranties and should warranty be a significant deciding factor? Thanks again. Doug

    • @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC
      @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC Před 28 dny

      We like that both windows offer lifetime warranties. It means that the manufacturers of Okna and Provia are confident that their windows will last, they are putting their money 💰 on the line to back up their claim, that their windows are made from premium materials. When you check other flagship windows manufacturers like Andersen, Marvin, they tell you that according to the studies their windows are most durable, but when it comes to warranty, they offer 15 years or 20 years top. Right away you can smell a rat, that something is not right. So it is important to look at the warranties. When it is transferable it helps, if you are planning to sell the house, otherwise both warranties will be solid.

      Picked up six of these windows on clearance for $83 each, marked down from $349. If I had known the bottom sash didn't tilt out, I would have passed on the deal. How does one fix the window in case of broken glass? No way in a million years would I pay $400 for this 100 series window. They give you eight mounting screws when only six are needed. Four of the holes in the frame weren't properly marked. Can't believe the corners that were cut for what these cost.

      @@WoodgemanX definitely it is frustrating not to be able to tilt at least the bottom sash. When you have Andersen 100 series in your house you have to hire someone to do any maintenance

      If you need to replace a glass it is possible to do that, but it has to be done by a knowledgeable window mechanic with special tools and set up. The whole sash has to be replaced, there is no option to replace just the glass. This option is especially unfortunate if you have dark bronze windows. You end up with two different color sashes

    1. Are there differences in wind speed tolerance? 2. If you compare windows closer in size, is there still a difference in sash thickness? 3. Which do you think will last longer (seems like the Pella would last much longer with it's over built features)?

    • @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC
      @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC Před měsícem

      Both windows are wind resistant and tolerant. The sash thickness is the same on all sizes. Both windows have robust construction. With extra big windows Pella might be the way, but Marvin boasts pretty reliable frame and sash construction as well

    Thanks for the great videos! Any thoughts on Provia Endure DLA-UV vs Okna 500 Heatseal deluxe? These windows seem almost identical in energy ratings and have the same warranty. I believe Okna 500 uses double strength glass where Endure uses single strength as standard which maybe is also the reason for the slightly higher structural number (171 vs 141 mph). Quote for Endure is $1600 less than Okna for 20 double hung windows which are 34 x 61 with 6 of the 20 being double, double hungs. Both installers have great reviews and warranties.

    • @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC
      @SidingWindowsWizardsLLC Před 2 měsíci

      The glass of Okna 500 series and Provia pretty much similar in energy efficiency. Both windows are well insulated. The Provia Endure has a thicker frame than OKNA 500 series, so you are gonna loose more glass real estate. If you have fairly big windows, it is less of an issue. Provia Endure has a nice lock and tilt system, it gives a cleaner look of the bottom sash. So either way Provia Endure and Okna 500 series will make your house more energy efficient and look nicer. Keep in mind though, that Provia Endure is more comparable to OKNA 600 series. OKNA 500 series are more comparable to Provia Aspect windows If you have a quote with $1600 less for Provia Endure, it sounds like a better deal.

      At this time we are not aware of any major upgrade to the Andersen 400 Woodright series tilt in system. On Andersen website it does say that something changed after 2017. It looks like they introduced new tilt and lock system, which definitely is a welcome by everyone, but still it is an optional feature. When you purchase these windows, you have to mention, that you would like to get easy tilt and lock system. It is an upgrade and you will have to pay a bit extra.

      @@petp@petp Triple-pane glass is definitely a great package. It helps both in winter and summer to reflect excessive cold or heat. It might make sense to get Triple Pane Glass if you plan to own your house for more than 10 years; that's when you get the most payback in energy efficiency savings. If you sell your home in 5 years, then there is no need to invest so much more money in the Triple Pane package.

      For your house definitely you should go with something more premium. Our best seller is OKNA windows, if you live in NJ or Eastern PA we can help you, otherwise you can Google and see if any OKNA dealers near you. Other great options are Provia Aspect or Endure, if you have big size windows, Pella 250 not a bad option. If your budget is very tight, Pella 150 might be another option, but keep in mind that this is an entry level window, so it has a low gauge vinyl and not a great choice for big size windows. It is a very tough job to adjust these windows if they are a bigger size.

I am going to install either the Elevate or Essential is my small ranch home. 7 windows 5 bedroom windows 1 bath and 1 kitchen window. Hoping to do this myself .
