Why is the PIP the section that allows switching of channels? And the background is locked? I want to have my PIP locked from input 1 feed and then have background switchable to my other 3 hdmi inputs. I basically have a multi cam event with 3 background cams and then want my PIP on channel 1 to remain locked on my ASL interpreter. This is a huge let down and seems like they have this backwards compared to how people usually use PIP on other hardware. Am I missing something here , is what I’m asking possible? I read the manual and it doesn’t seem like I can. Please answer, as I have a major event in 3 days. Thanks!!!
Does this camera have the ability to choose the behavior of the joystick? Example When I push the joystick forward, will the camera tilt down. Then change a setting that allows the camera to tilt up when I push the joystick forward. Thanks

Hi so, I'm using the video follows audio and it is using the xlr mics. Is there a way to get the audio from HDMI also to trigger the same video follows audio function?
We have audio coming in via RCA from our mixer. Its coming into our Roland V-1HD. When audio comes out of the Roland V-1HD, does it come out of HMDI? Or when you come in with RCA, is the only audio out option RCA (and not HMDI). We really want HDMI out for audio because the our is going into our YOLOLIV YoloBox.
It should embed the audio into the output (HDMI). Make sure you're running the latest firmware and then I'd do a factory reset on the switcher - defaults will definitely be embedded audio.
Also - I'd use a TV or some other output that is "dumb" to confirm that it is or isn't outputting audio. Sometimes smart "swiss army knives" like the YoloBox can be the trouble point.

Do I need the camera controller system to use the PTZ camera? Is it possible to input the PTZ camera as a webcam? If I opt-out of buying the controller, will I be able to control the camera from a web interface? Does your company sell the latest models, JVC KY-PZ400?

Can the sensitivity of the joystick controller be adjusted? It is challenging to make minor adjustments with it (it is very sensitive!). Thanks for the great video!

Have you used this while using the XLR outputs to a sound system at the same time? Does it work well?
It works wonderfully for this. We have now mostly switched over to selling/using/recommending DataVideo Switchers - which also work very well for this. I will say that "generally" we like having a separate audio board (and person) for all the work we do. For very small productions however, this built in audio mixer works well. (one man band approach)

No, you'll need to use a video capture card. Magewell and black magic make them in both usb and thunderbolt flavors.

I am trying to get a video switcher for our church. Does the Roland V 60HD have the capability to do text graphics titles as the pastor preaches? Also, I want to be streaming live on youtube and facebook. Can you show me how to configure that?
What I would really like is a camera switcher that can switch cameras via midi. That way I could output a midi track along with the baking tracks for automatic video switching during live stream in studio concerts

The headphone jack is next to the xlr inputs. If you mean an 1/8" mini input, its on the back 7/8 next to the rca's

We fear and loathe HDMI in production, but fortunately there are other options if you want all HDMI. The power of the Decimator be with you in the meantime... ;-)
It’s a SHAME that the VR50 does NOT have ANY soft browser transitions OR DVE transitions. Really limits the use of switching.

After the end of the Leviev and Aggie hear from the example, the sound of excellent audio, but the voice of the musician if I want to hear from Facebook if you run a music that will be stereo and have problems.
You will want to use customer support from your vendor to get answers to questions like this.
Is there any data being generated on the RS232 port that can be translated into Talley light signal usage. If so where would I find that information. That’s the only feature this switcher is missing.

Yes you can build a micro controller to take I. The rs232 and pick out the data for active channels. But the easiest fix is to pick the logics up that goto the switch led and feed an optical for your tally logics
@@rick601a The easy fix would mean I have to open the videomixer right? For me that is not an option since I borrow it and it is not mine. Do you have any schematics of the RS232 solution?
I started looking at the serial data but found out it was going to cost a lot of research and development. So I never finished the project. The serial port would be the ultimate option but a lot of information was not available from Roland. As they would not provide any information. Leaving me to spend hours on reverse engineering of the data.
Ah okay. Thanks for the answer. I found a document of the Roland V-1SDI RS232 commands. But it looks like you can only send a command to it. It gives every time the same respons according to the document. That's why I was wondering if you got it to work. I see people/products using the USB port since this does maybe give good feedback. I will try further.
