Departing from the old Delta gates(now located at the International Terminal)--seems odd that ORD is relatively quiet, not much ground movement, empty gates. I'm no fan of the 175's--the interior feels cramped and window alignment doesn't line up with seat rows. A family visit to Florida? Weather didn't change notably at arrival save for maybe the outside temp. Was UE your first choice for travel?

Ground Control certainly wanted you to have the Grand Tour of ORD! Too bad the cloud cover was so low that we could not see the Madison area nor the Chicago lakefront--any time for cabin service? Lots of empty gates at MSN, have you ever seen all gates occupied?

Totally agree with you regarding DTW. Even transferring through internationally flying Delta LHR-DTW-LAS, the customs and immigrations were quick, baggage transfer was seamless, the airport had a pleasing aesthetic plus had ample shops, food and drink options, rapid transit access, and seating. All good! Much better than other US airports I have transferred through internationally - ATL/JFK/EWR/BOS/IAH/MIA/MSP/LAX/OAK. Would definitely transfer through there again.

Probably my favorite plane ride to date was a Delta 767. When at cruising altitude, this plane was by far the quietest plane I have even flown! Couldn’t even tell the engines were on at all! The interior may have been slightly old, but I didn’t notice. It was clean, and simple looking to my eyes, and might as well have been brand new. It was my first international flight, and it was actually quite comfortable in my opinion. Also, it was my first Delta flight, and my first experience with a seat back screen that contained a flight tracker, which was pretty revolutionary for someone into planes.

This is a very early production 737-800, and first flew in August of 1999. I know this info because I saw the tail number (N380DA) in the clip of the plane arriving at the gate. It was a new product at the time, having just replaced the previous generation 737-400. The winglets are not original, they were likely installed in the late 2000s or early 2010s. These strangely got in-flight entertainment quite a while after the newer 737-800s from 2001 received it, so they can be identified by their bigger, brighter seat back screens and slightly smaller (though extendable) tray tables with latches that are pulled upwards instead of turning them. The rest of the seat (padding, pocket, arm rest) seems the exact same.

I made that trip many times in the 90's and early 2000's. Happy flying.

Your editing skills need work--at MSN, was waiting for that AE 145 to take off and he did but WHAM! he vanishes halfway down! Then the AA 319 comes in, touches down and he too WHAM! vanishes! Not real thrilled about your music overlay during the final taxi in, would be nice if you could let us hear the engine shutdown at the gate. Did you connect elsewhere?
