Finally had an opportunity to go through the footage from 2023 to select some of our favorite finds, locations, and adventures. In 2023, it was quality over quantity. We were not able to get out as much as we would have liked. Though, we did have some amazing adventures! Hope you enjoy looking back with us!

Great video nice to see the kids learning about the hobby and history thank you so very much for sharing looking forward to seeing your next adventure 👍👍❤️
Thank you! It is fun seeing the kids get excited about history!
Enjoyed your video! Got to be more artillery there somewhere. Sweet touch there at the end. Awesome happy family......Pap
Thank you Pap! I’m blessed for sure! I’ve definitely let the artillery bug take over out there! Digging everything I hear, and wearing myself out! I agree there has to be more somewhere!
Man wish I could find spots to go civil war metal detecting but never found any
They’re out there! Took me a while to find anything too. Get some old maps and you never know!
Nice water hunt guys !!! My river just went up from a major rain storm :( Subbed from Maine :)
Thank you!!
If I had to choose a nickname for Preston I would select ‘Lucky’ or ‘Four Leaf’. 🍀😊
Either would be appropriate!!
Great video guys! Congrats on your finds.
Thanks!
Great video! Exciting! Be nice but Can't find Artillery shell very time. I can remember a time when finding a minnie ball was sufficient. Keep em coming. ATB.....Pap
Absolutely! I am happy to find anything! We’re fortunate to have a couple good locations now. I definitely remember just hoping to find something that I could at least say was related to the CW!
Canteen spout smashed maybe, that first find
That was what we were wondering! I think it very well might be. That would be an awesome find for Preston!
Awsome job Preston !!!
Thank you!!
Love seeing father and son out there hunting together! Thanks for sharing! Ya huntin brother from the bootheel
Thanks for watching! It is a great time!
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
Congrats! Awesome shells!
Thank you! That boy is still smiling!
Awesome !
Thanks!
Great that you managed to capture such an exciting couple of finds and the expression on Preston’s face was priceless. Great video. Andy
Thank you! He hasn’t stopped smiling since!
Congratulations guys! Preston is a great ‘Good Luck’ charm. So happy for you both!! 😂🎉😅
He sure is! Thank you!
Friggin' Awesome!!! Both shells are beauts!!! Good stuff!
Thank you! I believe they ended up in that spot due to erosion of the bank. That saved a lot of the growth you see on those creek finds! Can’t wait to get them preserved to display!! We will do an update when they’re done!
Wow great fines
Thanks for watching!!
Sweet!
Thank you!!
So very cool! Happy for you all!
Thank you!!
2 Awesome shells! Wow! Several people out there that will disarm them. That is if the fuse is still there. I've drilled some of mine, but wouldn't do it again. I guess by now you gave contacted someone. If not, Arsenal Artifacts in Sylva NC has drilled several for me. Again, Awesome! Way to go Preston!
Thanks Pap! Our friend at Army of TN relics is taking them to someone he uses in GA. I’ll keep Arsenal in mind for the future!
Great job dude you rock ❤
Thank you for watching!!
Hi, great video as always, Preston seems to be growing by the day, i love how he is always smiling !!
Thank you for watching! He hasn’t stopped smiling since finding those shells! 😂
Nice Hotchkiss..Preston !! And schenkl ...wowzers !! Work all that area impact site ...good luck !!!
Preston said, “Thank you”! We will be back there this weekend. That area had been blocked by a bunch of trees that fell in the creek due to erosion. The bad storms a few months back moved them along. Can’t wait to get back in there!
Nice finds, keep it up
Thank you for watching!!!
You all were due for one 👍
I was beginning to wonder if we would ever find a complete one! Preston’s found enough shrapnel around there to build one. He is on the moon!
Poor kid. Has a nut job dad.
Great adventure. Prestons bullet, if I saw it right, is an Austrian. ATB. Take care.......Pap
Thank you Pap!!!
Nice finds, congrats!
Thank you!!
😮 yall are lucky to get permission to hunt Winstead hill. Lived in Franklin 30 yrs hunted all over the place, but it was told never to hunt up there if you got caught. It was going to be an expensive hunt, meaning jail and fines. But congrats on your fines. I have hunted the property's next door and basically found the same as yall. It's very hard to find virgin ground anymore in Franklin. Not to mention people dont let you hunt their property's anymore. To many folks from other states who dont want you hunting their land. But im in giles co now with a bunch of places to hunt. People here are mostly older southerns who a very cool about detecting.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to detect there! We have to find this stuff to pass on to the next generations. Thanks for watching and happy hunting!!
Agree 100% rain storms brring out new stuff in creeks .Love the grey bullets from water .Looks like Richmond lab sharps carbine bullet ...hard to tell. Good luck guys !!
Thank you for the help as always!!!
Oh yea!!!!!
Thanks for watching!!
I’m originally from Middlesboro, KY, now living in Murfreesboro,TN. I have lived all over KY and TN, near many Civil War battlefields. I have been wanting to try metal detecting for years, what would be a good starter detector around $700-$1000?
You can get one of several really nice detectors in that range. I use a Garrett AT Max which is right in that range. Personally, I would start with an even less expensive price range to start out. Something more basic like a Garrett Ace 250 or so. Once you start getting the hang of it, you could get a more advanced detector, and have the other as a backup. I definitely would not say only look at Garrett. MineLab, and many other good companies that make detectors out there. I just use Garrett because that’s what I got comfortable with, and they have great customer service.
❤ Great job, Preston! He will never forget it.
He had a great time!
Racist losers raising kids.
Never forget the Confederacy lasted 4 years and is not heritage w
The confederacy lasted 4 years but the divide still exists today. Still to this day the second you pass the mason-dixon line you hear a completely different accent.
Nonetheless, it is history. The people that made up the Confederacy were Americans. The very people they fought against lobbied to make sure that held true. There are many today that are descendants of the Confederacy. I have had the pleasure of getting to know many of them over the past few years. They are good people who consider their ancestors to be part of their heritage. We will always respect them. To them, it is part of their heritage. We at SERH make it our goal to preserve all aspects of the history of this country. Even the times that were the worst part of our history. It is more important to remember those times. We’re far less likely to repeat them
Didn't know you could dig up on the hill
You can with permission. We were invited by the SCV. They’ve been a good partner to us for some time now!
A few good finds, congrats! That crab and shrimp boil looked delicious! Good luck next time out!
Thank you!
Fun vid gang !! Plus food !! Perfect 👍
Thank you!!
Wooo! That boil looks good!
Wasn’t half bad!!
It was great to meet you and Preston this past weekend. I was amazed at how easy it was to identify you guys in the crowd from a distance and then just walk up and start talking to you. Best of luck on your future hunts and discoveries. 🙏🏻🕊️🤩
It was great to meet you too! You had Preston feeling like a celebrity! 😂
I was named after Robert e lee
There are a lot worse people to be named after. There’s too much false, and misinformation out there about some of the Confederate side. That’s why I always tell kids to do their own research from the time period they lived!
Love the pictures guys!! I love metal detecting ! I live on/near the madin Dixie line ! So you got u a bushwhacker here ! Thanks for the show !
Thanks for watching!!!
That’s cool to have e a family member connection when hunting ! Congrats
Thanks! We have a great time together!
