Ran the workshop at a main dealers and did the testing; could never understand sales valuing px's without our checking them first. They would have a full prep done, I would test and then they would discover they were in for a whole lot of un planned expense; a few turned out to be cut and shuts. Got through a few sales managers!

I think you should feel special when spending money in a dealership. We’ve bought many cars over the years and had the best experience with the lower end when collecting. One of the cars had a cover on and got the full unveiling etc. When recently buying a very expensive top of the range car, it was in a delivery bay and felt very underwhelming when handing over with no cover etc.

So pleased I'm not in the car sales game anymore !

I bought a brand new AMG last year. It broke down after 600 miles. They had it in for over a month until they said we’ve tried everything and can’t fix it. They had to strip down the engine and had to wait for a tool from Germany to do this. I rejected the car and got a full refund. Never again.

Car dealing in the 70's and 80's was great fun and a laugh a minute at the auctions, now it's just a pain in the arris, glad I got out in 1990.

The facelift Quattroporte is pretty much my dream car, and you see them for sale for £15k, but then you hear about things like £500 02 sensors 😂 it's easy to forget affordable buying price does not mean that's it's not still a proper exotic with the parts availablity and price tag to match 😢

As an owner of a 2013 SLK55 for five years until last year maybe the reason this car is welded to your forecourt is that it’s overpriced? You can buy an R172 SLK 55AMG for pretty much the same money, better car and ten years newer.
