They now have a small hole to drain water on the underside inboard corner. The plane is now hangar kept but have not seen the issue reoccur.

It is, however, a very fond memory, and I had never known exactly what aircraft type it was until your video was posted this week. Personnel at Westminster Airport thought it was a discarded prototype from the nearby (Hagerstown) Fairchild factory.

@@KennethAGrimm it is actually a discarded prototype! It was Boeings failed bid for a scouting aircraft. It has earned the affection of many due to the meticulous award winning restoration of N4770C by the current owner. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_L-15_Scout this is a slow and low plane that just goes and goes, one person mentioned 15 hours with onboard fuel. WOW!

Not sure what to tell you but I was not certain and reached out to the factory with the serial number. I am a broker and have no experience with Sonex. I knew I was not a good source of info so I did my research and solicited information from people who know more than anyone, the people who designed the aircraft. They confirmed it was a 3 so I am going to go with what the factory said. Until someone from Sonex reaches out to tell me otherwise I cannot list it as anything but what the factory says. It was not recently built. Sat with a pickled engine for a few years. If you review the content in the post you will see more info about the plane.

According to Sonex Aircraft it is a B based on the serial number so I am going to keep with that

The B model has a rounded panel. Also has vents on side of cowl. It's an A model.
