How long were you living in the dorms before you got the opportunity to move out? Also, if I already have furniture at home for a 1-bedroom is there a way I can use pto to drive home to bring my items? Can you have pets when you leave the dorms?

gotta be an e3 or married, go to the housing office and they’ll give you directions on how to go about it
do u guys have to pay anything for the apartment? and how come you guys get to live there with others? did u guys get assigned?
they’re allowed to move in together as roommates. when you’re able to leave the dorms you have the choice to live off base with whoever, you’ll only get enough housing pay for a singular person though.
No lie.. this makes me appreciate army barracks just a little more😂

Cannon was my first base. If you are 4 year old contract. Your mostly likely going to pcs a year in but if you are a 6 year sometimes you get stuck there.
But for the most part cannon is not bad. People just very negative about it. My advice is make the very best out of it. What I mean is just don’t sit at base on the weekend/four days. Go to Lubbock, Amarillo, abq, El Paso , Denver. You will definitely need a car but make them memories! Go hiking ! Just get out. I’m telling you !

Does every off base housing have furniture for you? And will I have to have roommates when I get out the dorms ? And how was your overall stay in the dorms ? Great vide good luck !
they offer furniture but i only accepted some, there’s roommates for mine but they offer singles , my stay at the dorms was pretty good i can’t complain !

I’m hearing so much mixed talk about whether or not they will allow us to shave or not. I heard that razors were not allowed.
for girls we’re allowed to shave when time is given which would usually be on sundays, but for boys they’re forced to shave their face everyday

the base i’m at has dorm housing off base when we are at capacity so i plan to go there but ill technically still be in the “ dorms “ but its just an apartment off base

out of all the branches i would say the air force had the best quality of life & if you could join any i would def say air force !

@@babyjokker815 honestly the physical wasn’t hard at all for me , i’d say it was only hard if you were home sick tbh , it’s fairly easy & a cool experience. i personally was going through a breakup that had happened six days before i left so just having to deal with that was the hardest part but that was just me personally

they gave us prenatal vitamins to take if we wanted to but that was about it

i’d say the 2 hardest parts were being homesick & being there in texas heat & 2 best parts were sundays & making new friends !

Do they have a cafeteria for you guys to eat everyday or you have to cook or buy outside food?
yes they do! they have two cafeterias for airman in the dorms on base but once you move off base you have to cook & buy ur own food but you’re given money for food once you move off base, so for now it’s cafeteria food for me :)

This was so helpful thanks out so much. I ship out June 25th for the Space Force but we have the same packing lists. Since Air Force and Space Force are both at Lackland, did you ever interact with Space Force or are they totally separate?
i’m so glad it helps ! space force is completely separated from air force in bmt, but i did go to tech school with some space force since im intel

@@marstorre3447Hopefully you can get that waived but they do take in consideration the health issues when going to MEPS. if I were you I would CZcams health conditions that will not be allowed to join the air force. Because meps doctors are pretty strict about being completely healthy. Good luck!

coming from the city area it was definitely hard for me having to be here for my first duty assignment , i personally would say it kinda sucks here but it’s different for everybody , my friends like it here , but i personally don’t just bc the environment is so different than what im used to, the people are pretty good here tho !
