apparently it was cut because the audience wanted elizas reaction, but mabye there could´ve been both songs in the musial?? idk some might argue that it would just say the same thing over again from another perspective tho- but i like the beggining so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I read a fanfic where Laurens becomes Philip's guardian angel when he dies. When he finds out what Alex did it's heartbreaking and he makes Alex see him after the publishing of the Reynolds Pamphlet and roasts him with Angelica's lyrics from this. And I love it soo much, because honesty I would've loved to see his (why did he have to die so early goddamit 😢), Lafayette's and Hercules's reaction in the musical.
1:59 the slow claps in the instrumentals. Just... * Chef's Kiss* Also I imagine her tearing up the letters at this point and at the final "Congregation" she throws the pieces at Hamilton, like confetti, while walking away, never making eye contact or turning back to him.
Ew I hate this song. Eliza's endless devotion and love go so amazingly unrequited, and now Angelica is ostensibly in a loveless marriage wasting her life pining for Hamilton. Pathetic x2, nothing but downhill for the female characters of Hamilton after their introduction song
"I love my sister more than anything in this life I will choose her happiness over mine everytime" I felt that. I love my own 2 and will protect them from anything
"Oceans rise, empires fall, It's much harder when it's all your call, All alone, across the sea, When your people say they hate you, Don't come crawling back to me" Those are really powerful lines.
So they basically shortened this and put it in The Reynolds Pamphlet. Honestly, i don't prefer this version. The way she just says a couple of sentences, yell right at his face and then silently goes away in The Reynolds Pamphlet works better for me than having a whole song like this.
There's a girl named Eliza in our friend group, she's the youngest and therefore the baby we must protect at all costs, so the line "Eliza is the best thing in our lives" has a place in my heart.
Here’s a fact about Angelica Schuyler and Maria Reynolds’s So Maria’s husband James Reynolds’s forced Maria to have affairs with many other men to save her children and Angelica’s secret with her husband /John church she Eloped with her husband John baker church
And then Hamilton did the equivalent of publishing her nudes, ruining her life, and her reputation in history is seductress homewrecker with her voice entirely taken away from her because only powerful white men get to tell their stories. Lovely
Angelica’s part/rap from “I’m not here for you” to “you’ve been blessed with the best wife” would be one of the best parts in the show(even though it was removed). The soundtrack is missing this song which is just sad but in the Reynolds pamphlet Angelica’s part is similar and is the best part of the soundtrack and you can’t change my mind.
I love this song you can really hear angelica’s hurt in it . But you know who should’ve gotten a song Mariah Lewis Reynolds it could shown more of affair .
In my shuffled playlist, it goes: Burn, Say No To This, Congratulations, The World Was Wide Enough, and then Guns and Ships. Yep, sounds about right. yep...
okay, this might´ve deepened and established the story forward. why was it cut out? i really need to know now ajshs

Ily Angelica
ugh the absolute DISGUST and ANGER when angelica said "im not here for you"
For some reason Angelica's songs always happen to be my fav, if this came after Reynold's Pamphlet, it would've been my favorite.
This entire time I thought this song was called “Kind Of Stupid”
listen to it at 1.5 speed and it is GREATER than before
Not my playlist going to,"say no to this" afterwards

angelica coming with the omae wa mou shindeiru.

Angelica was spitting STRAIGHT bars at the beginning :0
