Round two on the floral PART 2
This is the second layer of work in the floral piece. As you can see I also incorporated my derwent inktense blocks which are highly pigmented. This video was sped up. I did allow the painting to dry thoroughly between sessions. I made sure it was dry to the touch.

Start of a floral PART 1
zhlédnutí 80Před 21 hodinou
I started this on paper ( Strathmore mixed media) and had some issued editing. First it was sped up a bit then it went into slow motion. I’m not sure why. Could have been user error lol. Anyway this was the start of a floral painting using acrylic paint. I did not do any sound or voice over effects.

Love your paintings. Your 1st painting from 2012 looked like something I would do.
I love this, but wish it was correctly oriented instead of sideways!😊
Love the colors and grid art. Great warm up practice. Thanks for sharing !
Love this Lisa! I've been a realism painter since the 70s . Am really wanting to move into abstract and think your method will really help me do that . Just found you on youtube this morning and subscribed for more inspiration. God Bless !
Thank you !
I love it!!!! ❤❤❤❤really great! And I’m inspired! Thank you so much!
Awesome
Fabulous ✌🏼❤️
Lovely thanks for sharing!
It kind of looks like Joan Mitchell 🎉❤
Love your loose painterly style. Free and easy 🎉
Did you ever close your eyes and paint or make marks😅
I have! I’ve taught it in workshops as well!
I paint with two brushes sometimes😂
Do you gesso your paper?
I use gesso usually as my “mixing white” in paintings so there ends up being quite a bit of gesso throughout. The paper I use is almost always Strathmore mixed media and the surface is so great that starting with gesso isn’t a necessity.
Great video! Ive sub.
Loved this. So inspiring!
Fabulous video thank you Lisa. I love watching you paint. The grids are awesome and the colour combination just perfect. I can see why you love it so much - so do I. Just perfect.
I really enjoyed that Lisa. I've been having a hard time trying to get myself to paint, so I'm enjoying watching you paint. It's very calming and kind of painting vicariously through you. Yeah, get those collage pieces for next time girl! Question - will you be spraying a fixative over the charcoal? And if this were a painting would you be fixing the stabilo with matte medium and then brush or spray after with varnish? Anyway, thanks for posting!
Oh yes to all of that! Great 👍🏻 things to bring up. I absolutely would use my workable fixative over the charcoal and my choice for sealing the painting has almost always been spray matte varnish. I actually may do the fixative in the morning in the journal! 👍🏻Thank you !
@bakerlisa47 Oh, good to know. I didn't know that there was a spray matte finish!! What brand would that be? Thanks alot for replying!
It’s KRYLON brand I always use it outdoors
You are great , really ❤❤❤
Thanks for a great video Lisa. I love your sketchbook!! Even when I see a painting on Instagram, before I've seen your name, I think to myself "That's a Lisa Baker....). Love your work - thanks for sharing with us. Cheers, Deb (NZ)
I REALLY enjoyed looking inside of your sketchbook!! I'm familiar with some of your artwork that I've seen online here or there. Your pieces draw me in because of your mark making, your shapes, and colour choices. So this was a real treat! Thanks for posting..
Thanks for watching!
