I'm certain that no police enjoy writing tickets so they can show up to court on their days off. Personally, I've found the easiest way to avoid tickets is to not break the law.

Far more time is spent in the MSP academy studying the law than in these practical exercises. People sitting in a classroom doesn’t make for a good video however.

Try fighting them. They’re tougher than most men I have met. They have endured far worse than you ever have I am sure.

They are in the Michigan State Police Training Academy. That building was built for the sole purpose of training troopers. The rooms you saw were dormitories and classrooms. The presence of carpet does not inhibit their training I assure you.

You wouldn’t even finish this course. As someone that went through this it’s far worse than it looks. They cut out all of the stair climbing they had to do from the video. By the way, those are 50 pound weighted vests they’re wearing the entire time.

They do. Refresher training is performed often.

No....they leave that for On-the-Job training by their supervisors.

There is de-escalation training throughout the academy. It is very important and is a major focus compared to other topics.
