Therianthropy is an involuntary identity, you do not need gear to be a Therian however you cannot become one or join the community by choice.

@@PastelLove-ku6hd it’s not really based on characteristics- In short, a Therian is someone who identifies on a non-physical level as a non-human animal. The reason it’s not a voluntary identity is because the animal-like thoughts, feelings, instincts, etc. that Therians experience are *entirely involuntary* and cannot be forced or chosen. You could very well be a Therian and just not know it, but I’d recommend doing a LOT more research (perhaps in places other than a CZcams comment section) before claiming this very serious community as your own.
You can but you can't choose to be a therian, if you have involuntary animal behaviors then you might be a therian but if you aren't then you can do vocals wear gear and do quads without being a therian they are called Quadrobists and they have a choice to do that

1:51. you cant "want" a theriotype. perhaps you like to make masks of that theriotype, or its your favourite animal, butbit doesnt work like that. neither can you "get" a theriotype. you are born with it, (not like a disease kinds thing butbya know what i mean) and awakened/awakening/awaken is a beter word to use. like saying "the theriotype i wanted" makes you seem like a fake therian (atleast in my opinion). because its like you find out about therians, and want a theriotype. im just saying, you cant want or get a theriotype
