Really well-done review, with demonstrations and illustrations! Interesting facts, especially about Germanâs Chocolate Cake. Thank You so Much!
Thank YOU so much @debilei1078! I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks for commenting!
They really skimped out with the icing on the blueberry cookie.
You are so right @soar123. I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. I was still good though. đ Thanks for commenting!
I've found it to be pretty much a wash on grocery prices between Canada and the US. Things like dairy and chicken products are going to be more expensive in Canada due to that nation's marketing boards which allow family farmers to make a decent living, instead of the US where government subsidies create conditions for industrial farming. But other things can be way cheaper, including orange juice of all things.
Thanks for the insight @stevenvallarsa@1765. And thanks for commenting. Much appreciated.
Just AI crap. Delete your channel.
I think you are wrong about the name Boston Pizza. I recall an episode of dragons den where Jim Treliving talked about the idea boston pizza. When he was an RCMP officer he saw everyone buying pizza after the bar closed and they would go to a place called boston pizza he opened the first BP as we know it in Penticton. The original owner chose the name Boston because it is easy to pronounce not because of the large pizza culture in Boston
Hi @kathyharris1627. Thanks for the feedback. Here's what I found on the BP website: 'In 1964, a Greek immigrant by the name of Gus Agioritis opened a single pizza restaurant and bar in Edmonton, naming it after a city he hoped to one day visit.' You are correct about Jim opening the first (franchise) location in Penticton. Thanks for commenting!

Glad you liked it @derosenm5602! Mondays are currently my happy day of the week. Who knew! Hope you get some soon! Thanks for commenting!đ
Tim's has not been good for about a decade now. Negative 5 stars maybe.
I hear that a lot! Thanks for commenting @Raztax!
As a Canadian: 1) Tim Horton's.... m'eh. WAY overrated. 2) The Keg is very good. "Chops" is better now, but I don't know how popular it is. 3) Boston Pizza - Great if you like to drink and the service is usually amazing. Food. M'eh. Nothing big. 4) Swiss Chalet is fair. They do what they do. The sauce? 10/10. And yes, for sure you're correct - older folks LOVE it! In fact I have an upcoming lunch with my mom. She loves it. 5) Harvey's - quick and very decent. I grew up on that. Some of the best memories of my father taking me there. - RIP dad. 6) Second Cup do a very job with lattes. And yes, the price is somewhat fair compared to SB - 7/10. 7) Booster juice. Too expensive - not really my style. Just me. 8) Mary Brown's. Very expensive, but it blows KFC out of the water. Very good food. 9) Never been. No opinion, but now you got me thinking! :) 10) Now, East Side Mario's. It's a fun place. Love the chicken parm. Fun place. Always chaotic but in my experiences everyone is always having a good time.
@alainalonde Thanks for the awesome reply! It was great to hear another Canadian guy's take on these places. Thanks for commenting.
@@NeilDeal2023 Yes bro! Keep it up! :)
@@alainlalonde Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot. đ
I'll try it ! It's a little heavy handed on salt but I guess that why it smells of soya sauce ( I love soya sauce) Do you remember Libby's beans ? Deep brown beans to be exact. I just found Heinz Deep browned beans yesterday, I really hope they are what I remember. I was addicted to those my whole childhood. What ever happened to Libby's anyway đ
Hey sus! Good question about the Libby's. And I don't remember them making browned beans-just canned fruit and vegetables--oh, and ketchup. I'm sure they made that too. Used to love their jingle!
-Tim Horton's "double double" = put enough sugar and milk in it so I can't taste it. Dunkin is superior -Lucky for you if you like Pizza Hut, it's horrible on both sides of the border. Boston Pizza is a sit down scream fest for kids with parents that pretend they don't know them and angry wait staff who knows they aren't going to get a tip. Food is as bad as the wait staff's attitude. Get Pizza Nova -Outback had the same seasonings on the meat and steamed veggies and rearranged the chicken and salads to give the illusion of a larger menu. The Keg is superior in every way. -KFC was salty as hell and Mary Brown has been kicking the Colonels ass for decades. Get taters instead of fries. - Swiss Chalet affordable? Nope. Full of old people with coupons and young inattentive staff who ignore you for too long because they are used to old people taking forever., and are too busy gossiping and texting in the back about nothing. Chicken? Nope, I think they buy pigeons because I have never seen a chicken that small. - Harveys not bad but you'd have to like the patty. The texture of the patty feels like it's a mix of pork and beef. If you get anything cold, that is on the location, and not the norm. - Eastside Marios. Don't go here if you are Italian or remotely related unless you like to be insulted. Yet another kid scream fest with wait staff that would think nothing of seating a couple beside a table of kids wailing away in a competition to see who can shatter glass while their parents completely ignore them. I don't frequent the other restaurants because, well they are expensive for what you get. I'm not willing to pay $9 for juice. I'm not willing to pay $5 for a coffee. I'm not in the habit of spending $15 for a burger and fries. I prefer to eat at home because the food is getting worse, the prices are going up and the attitude from the servers is off the chart. Most people that frequent these places don't have their finances and priorities in order. I see people spend $90 per day on takeout for them and their family. This excludes what their better half buys.
Recommending Harveys is aa crime. Consistently the wost burgers I have ever had, Ive already vowed to never go back
đ
The Keg is a tier more expensive than chains like Outback Steakhouse. Less casual definitively.
Montana's is a more suitable comparison
@@pinkpools Yes, Montana is a good comparison to Outback Steakhouse.
we also have Pizza Hut here
Chocolate would be my favorite đ
Hi Kellie! Good to hear from you! Yes, that chocolate cookie is something special. I might even call it magical. đ
McCafe is the superior old tim's recipe, much better coffee than what they have now

Homie said Tim's makes a great cup of coffee... then what swill are you even drinking in the states?
This list is very Ontario centric where every chain listed is prevalent. Several have very few locations west of Ontario. Harvey's doesn't have a single location in BC.
Or it could be argued, very Edmonton centric with three of the 10 entries founded there. I was surprised to discover that. Thanks for commenting.

Can you guys do something about your forests burning constantly and fucking up my air here in New Hampshire. Also, you have no energy in your voice and makes a somewhat interesting video rather drab. Like, be quick cause you have a like Eor droll that makes this almost sad to watch.
Lol! If you can get this guy to solve forest fires, I'm all for it. I live in Canada and the fires fuck up my air too. Sorry that wind exists, i guess. I'm sure we don't mean to blow smoke down your throat. ;)
Hi @travishardy5757. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about the forest fires, like you can't do much about the California fire sending smoke to Canada, but I can work on my voice overs. I really appreciate that feedback. It's very helpful. Thanks for the comments! What does Eor mean?

I think so too!
Well hello there, and hello there cute little Cesar. What did you get in that surprise bag of goodies for $10? I love mystery bags as I love a good surprise. Well that was a really good surprise bag. Good deals, and things I would use, and things to put away for later in the year. I love that coaster, and the coffee cup is always needed. That turkey plate, and that pumpkin pie salt, and pepper shaker are adorable. What? $100 worth of stuff? That is a great deal for a $10 bag. T.F.S. Love AMY

Thanks for the comment @Hugolinoc ! No, unfortunately, we don't have canes yet--and I'm not sure if they're planning to open in Canada anytime soon, but I'd love to try it. On a positive note, we are getting Chick-Fil-A any day now. Hope it's as good as the hype. đ€
Looks good for takeout to go. đ Thanks for sharing.
We have 150k people in my city. No Costco. City keeps denying their applications to build here. You're lucky to have it lol đ I'd eat that! ( why are you wearing a jacket and pants in this heat!? lol đ„”)
Hey @susnorth40! Wow, what a rip! NO Costco?! We used to have only two for about a million people and I wouldn't join because the crowds were ridiculous. Now we have about 8, but go at the wrong time and you'll never get out of the parking-if you get in it in the first place. Yes, the jacket was a bad idea (in the car) but it's actually made of a bug repellent material because I'm highly allergic to mosquitos--and the reason for the pants--yeah, no one wants to see these legs đ€Ł

Honestly to me they look exactly like the Tyson chicken strips which they sell. Your description fits too. They are frozen and need to be cooked in the oven before eating! đ
Thanks for commenting @matitiger10 ! Hmmm, I bet you're on to something with the Tyson theory. I'll have to check to see if they sell them (as Tyson is not a common brand in Canada) or they might be Kirkland brand. Supposedly the hotdogs are. Thanks again for commenting! đ
