Joe Montana: Cool Under Pressure - "Hey Look, it's John Candy"
Super Bowl XXIII against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 22, 1989. Down 16-13 with 3:20 left in the game, Joe Montana diverts his O-lineman's attention away from himself and on to actor John Candy, who was seated at the opposite end of the field. This is technique is reminiscent of one used in psychotherapy, where the therapist will divert the attention of a narcissistic patient by asking a question that is unusually banal, e.g. "why did you chose to wear a red and gold uniform to your session today?" After pointing out Candy seated behind the opposite end zone from their own eight yard line, Montana and the 49ers drove the ball down the field to score a touchdown with 34 seconds remaining on the clock.

Stellar. Pure Soul. No compromises.
Dont wanna get political, but this song is kinda fitting right now
Texas hill country. Close to heaven you can get here on earth.
clark gives it his own craggy treatment and it sounds wonderful.
When you lived in Texas and had to move to California, stayed 15 years then moved back to Austin, you might do as we did play this song and other Guy Clark songs 4:59

Wow here I am seating waiting in my van for Amish in Bryant Indiana that came here to see a brother married Thursday November 9, 2023. My load came from El Dorado Springs Missouri (Schwartz). I never heard this man before now he's on my favorite list.
If you don't feel this song in your heart you're lost in this fuckin world. Good riddens to you. As for me...I'll just go down this road in a cloud of smoke.
Just came into my mind this morning and it’s as good as ever xx
Pretty much every time I drive up from San Diego to La, this is on my Playlist, along with X Los Angeles, Dave Alvin 4th of July, and John Stewart California Bloodlines. Then, it usually drifts to Youth Brigade's sink with California, and anything by the Minutemen
My dad used to sing this during every road trip 🥰 I grew up in a good time
Oh Susanna, don't you cry, babe Love's a gift that's surely handmade.
Reminds me of my deceased mom
I thought Marty Robbins music hits me in the heart, but this song has the same effect on me.
That is one of the most honestly written songs ever...
The song of 18 and my BFF and I having a ball. Glad he made it out of LA, it wasn't good enough for him. Here's to you Guy, Townes, and Skinny Dennis
His wife had several hits and he always told her that she made hits and he made classics
De tijuana mexico escucho a guy clark buenas canciones y country
Always love the line "say goodbye to the landlord for me. That sum bitch has always bored me." 😆😆😆. No idea why I find that so hilarious! Just not the typical complaint you hear about a landlord I guess. 🤔
Jerry Jeff Walker covered this song on the album with Rodeo Cowboy. Can not remember the name too many years. First heard it in 1978-9 . Loved Jerry Jeff and this guy’s writing is truly great as I have since discovered. 44 years ago really? No matter ,the feeling it brings stil remains.
Viva Terlingua
One of the best songs ever
You can edit your original comment and yes it's fantastic song
One of those songs from the cobwebs of my mind - have no idea when i first heard it or where . . .

Took me 4 hours to get out of LA
Jimmy Buffet definitely listened to this record a few times.
You rock balls Guy! Wish I could have met you
If I could just get back to zero, I'd be alright 👍
I HATE THIS!!!!!! All you did was transfer the sound from his album and add a still photo. THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT A VIDEO!!!!!!!
This is truly art.
I am always astounded at how little-known this great singer-songwriter is. One of the all-time greats of American Country/Folk, right up there with his great friend, the legendary TvZ. Almost everyone I have ever introduced to his music has asked the same question: "Why haven't I heard of him before!". One of the many hidden gems of musical Americana.
I first heard this song in the 1980aa on the John Davis folk music show that was on radio station KPFK for decades. It is a great anthem for people stuck in Los Angeles with dreams of getting out of the city.
Yes it’s as beautiful as you can think,Hello how are you doing 👋👋
the great gary stewart and my dad brought me here. and im glad to be here.
Damn if that ain't a song of my life
I LOVE THIS!
