    It does have a certain amount of umph, but you gotta coax it out smoothly, it never reacts well to “pedal to the metal” situations. When you keep the accelerator at about 75%, give it a second and it suddenly comes alive. The drivetrain is weird that way.

      I owned a Corolla hatch and I now own a crosstrek wilderness but I spent a day with an Impreza rs. If you value fuel economy get the Corolla. If you live in an area that gets snow get the Subaru. The Corolla felt quicker than the Subaru rs. But the Subaru rs rode nicer was quieter and handled better. But I think the largest downside to the Subaru over the Corolla is fuel economy, I averaged about 5-10mpg less than the Corolla.

    Hi CarDadBill. Good review, tour and drive video for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. Very nice looking vehicle. Also nice features as well that will give rival vehicles like the Audi Q7, Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, Lexus TX, Cadillac XT6 and Volvo XC90 a run for their money. For this fifth generation I like the fact that the overall design schematics for it is sleeker and more rugged. Also, I like the fact that all exterior lights and all interior lights are LED which is standard across all six trim levels for the vehicle. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee L too. Also in the same Summit Reserve trim as well. Only differences are mine is the 2023 model year, mine is in black (Diamond Black Crystal Pearl color), mine has the front passenger infotainment screen and more importantly mine has the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. Im not sure if you noticed this, but the one thing I can say with Jeep is that for this vehicle, they'll give you more than one way to access the same feature. For the instance the massaging seats can be done two ways either by pressing the button on the door panel or by doing it on the infotainment screen. Another feature that can get accessed more than one way is power folding the third row seats. Besides doing it by pressing the buttons on the right side of the cargo area, power folding the third row seats can also be done by pressing the buttons on either side of the wheel wells. Finally, to open the lift gate that can be done four ways and not one or two ways like some to most of the competition. Pressing the button on the inside of the vehicle at the ceiling, pressing the button on the lift gate itself, pressing the button on the key fob and finally the fun way is doing it hands free via the kicking motion under the middle portion of the bumper. Overall versatility at a high level with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I'm not sure if you're in the Jeep Wave program, but with that program the first three oil changes as well as the first three tire rotations are free. It was back in July of this past year I got my vehicle. My first oil change and tire rotation was done just few days ago. Now I have two more free ones left. So, overall Jeep owners are covered which is nice. 👍👍

    Thank you for doing this video. I have had a 2022 Ioniq 5 AWD Limited for almost two years. I love this car. It’s great for everyday use and over the road (of the 35,000 miles on my car, 24,000 are out-of-state travel). I think you did a good job of giving your perspective on the 5, though I do want to point out a couple of things. First, early on you said that there was no front grill because there is no need for ventilation. Actually, those two slots low down on the bumper open up as needed to provide cooling to the battery active thermal control. Second, you said “you have to tell it to heat.” I am mystified by that statement. I simply set my temp and put it on auto. The car will heat and cool as needed. Maybe you were thinking of the heated seats? You do have to tell the car to do that. Keep doing your vids!

    I'm looking at either this vehicle -- 2024 XSE version -- OR the new 2024 Kona Limited AWD. Both same price and difference will be interior comfort for me as I am currently driving my 2nd Kona (2019 and now 2022) so will I get a 3rd Kona? For me, the really good element is the AWD is really an On-Demand AWD, as the rear axle has a 3rd electrical motor, so you only get AWD when you need it, not when you don't (why I left Subaru) which is better for the mpg. Only negative for me with Toyota is the Hybrid does NOT have a spare tire. I don't do much highway driving, so not a deal breaker for me. But the interior does look very cheap and plastic-y compared to the Kona!

    • @Steve_in_NJ
      @Steve_in_NJ Před 6 měsíci

      UPDATE: I sat inside a 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid and didn't love it! For all that money, I want to feel like the driver seat is comfy, not compressed (too narrow), and all that plastic and hard piano black with a plain 8" screen and no navigation for the top trim just makes the CCH very cheap looking. No spare and paying $$$$ extra for sunroof and JBL sound system is not worth it! I'm getting a 2024 Hyundai Kona Limited AWD. Their HTRAC is also On-Demand AWD, just like Toyota's. And for $1000+ less, I get all the bells and whistles -- and a spare tire -- that isn't offered in a Toyota!

    The only con I had when I bought my 2019 Impreza Sport manual was that when I was on a hill and put on cruise control it loose speed at a slow rate and then kick on high rev to try to keep up. If what you said is true on the new RS with extra HP to help the cruise control stay at the speed, it will be pretty cool. I'm just sad that it doesn't come with manual anymore.

    I think you nailed it that this is a fun, refined commuter. People are trashing it for not being as fast as a WRX but I’d never consider a WRX for my 80 mile, round trip commute. I’d only get to enjoy the 5 second 0-60 for the 1 mile to the freeway and the rest of the drive I’d be burning premium fuel at 25 mpg. This car is similar fun & price to a Civic Sport Touring, Mazda 3 Premium or Elantra N-Line and you get real Subaru AWD as a trade off for leather/leatherette upholstery in the competition. I’m probably getting a Crosstrek but this is a compelling package for me as a fun, higher trim commuter.

    I was going to buy this but really glad I didn’t because I saw an article on how messy to replace the timing chain on its straight six…The 2024 Mazda CX-90 Inline 6 has a rear timing chain like BMW's b-58 engine, which requires the engine to be pulled out and half of the car to be disassembled for a timing chain replacement job.

The seats are combo leather (or pleather) with a material insert... What is wrong with this picture. All the safety features are there with heated seats & steering - are they misinformed. @CarDadBill Před 7 měsíci

      Hey there, if you have driven any hybrid vehicles in the past, you'll sort of understand the engine noise. It's a high revving noise you get because it's just a small motor. it is not a deal breaker, but noticeable for sure. I think the Prius is an amazing car.
