After following your secret killing of Assam, now I have been following your travelogue videos whether in Ladakh or ZFM . Thank you for promoting Arunachal tourism. I am a Arunachali but due to tight schedule I could visit Anini till now, although it is in my bucket list for a long. 👍👍

Warning: This is a very long comment Point 1: There were two major armed forces operations called operation Bajrang and Operation Rhino, on the ULFA cadres. This led to painful demise of countless (in lakhs) of Assamese youth who volunteered to work for the banned organization which resulted in a sharp decline of the cadres and in addition, instilled a fear among the common people. When I was a child, we would hear that some guy got killed somewhere because of links with ULFA, almost everyday. Point 2: The Indian Govt. worked in a Divide-and-Rule method, which broke up the backbone of the banned organization, which resulted in smaller groups, like, the so called Surrendered ones, then Pro-Talk ones, then Anti-Talk ones, etc which resulted in a loss of manpower and intelligence in the banned organization. One group turned against another and the Govt forces might have fuelled or assisted in this conflicts and thus the "Gupto Hotyas'. The idea was to eliminate the banned organization and its members entirely. Point 3: Even today, anyone communicating with ULFA, trying to host ULFA cadres as guests in homes, trying to support ULFA in social media or in public places, trying to join ULFA or even trying to write poems defending your motherland or trying to say that Assam was once a sovereign state is handled with a iron-hand by the Govt. and you might face jail time for even writing a few lines of poetry, and it doesn't matter if you are a young female, you will be jailed and dominated like anything but a good citizen. Point 4: ULFA as of today, has no place to stay on. Let it by Myanmar or Bangladesh, they are evicted quite often and also, a strict eye is kept on people trying assist, join or communicate with ULFA. So, its quite a hard task for the organization to stand out and still live amidst all these crisis. Do you want to know, if I support ULFA? The answer is No and why? Because, Assam is quite a weak state, in terms of economy, industrialization and entrepreneurship, It has a low local political growth and central Parties like the congress and the BJP have been leading the state far too long. Youth from Assam, do not want to start a business, but wants a Govt. job, so do we think, they will be able to handle a liberated state like Assam? Definitely No! Even if India says tomorrow, Let go of Assam Its now a sovereign state, then, Other powerful neighbouring countries will immediately attack Assam and gulp it down. After that no mercy for Tholuwa Assamese! So the solution is: Make Assam a reserved state, enforce innerline permit, reduce the export of her resources, allow and encourage more entrepreneurship and business activities that will boost the economy and we are done. No need of ULFA.

Hey, Thanks for the video. Some questions if you can assist: I am from Baroda - Gujarat. I am planning a trip to NE and Anini is one of the options. If i choose to go there - only way is to fly to Dibrugarh and rent a car. Can you tell me the road condition - its 376 Kms . How much time does it take? If I have to spend a night midway - what would be a good place to stay. Are there any other picturesque town en-route where one can spend a couple of days? Any idea how much would a hatchback taxi cost?

I've read some books where I have gathered a little knowledge about ULFA and other insurgent groups of NorthEast. My uncle (খুৰা) who was an ULFA CADRE and martyred in the year 1996-1997 in a village paddy field in kampur, Nagaon, Assam I think that incidence had a linked with killings that era.

This time I won't agree. No doubt they did their best during their revolutionary years but they couldn't continue the spirit. Maybe because of man power, finance, trust among themselves, they couldn't continue the fight. They succumbed to the Indian army . For sure, they have surrendered.

You should read 'Ulfa:The Mirage of Dawn' by Rajeev Bhattacharya. There are many info about ULFA, Assam, SULFA, Secret killing etc etc. your father's killing is also mentioned there.

It's not ULFA (1).... it's ULFA ( Independent).
