Katie is so underated this woman is a literal genius I remember listening to her album when I was 17 and just being completely blown away by the composition. You could tell that her band were people that studied classical music at a very expert level and the music they made when they left university was just sublime. Katie Noonan and the captain's was one of those albums that completely changed the way I heard music and experienced music. The melodies are intrinsic and complicated yet flow as if it were easy I'm yet to find an album that moved me as much as that one the music is profound.

Have had the pleasure of seeing Katie play live regularly for nearly 20 years, from festival and pub gigs with george in the mid 90s to Elixir to more recent solo Recital Centre performances. Probably the purest voice I have ever heard. Always mesmerising.
